I did a detail write up on my tour with Ephusus Deluxe on my blog along with pictures. This is one stop that taking a tour is required to understand the history. You will not be disappointed. When we returned we stopped off at the market but they were way to aggressive for me.

We toured with Bulent four years ago and he is excellent as you said. He is independent so you can ask whatever company you choose if he can be your guide.

Bulent was our guide in May for our party of six just to Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, and he was a terrific guide.

To me the Terrace Houses were the highlight of the trip. It is also the hottest place we have ever been. It was 114 on the day of our visit.

Us too last summer. Th best money we spent was on the bottled water for sale at the little stands at the top entrance of the ruins and on the slushy cold drinks for sale at the end of the tour!
