mds0424 Posted August 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) We will be taking our son on his first cruise at 11 months old. Do babies pay full rate for shore excursions or are there special rates or possibly some excursions that babies are free? What excursions would you recommend for those travelling with a baby? ETA: Our ports of call will be Costa Maya & Cozumel Edited August 28, 2014 by mds0424 add ports of call
cb at sea Posted August 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2014 It depends on the excursion... Whatever you pick, you will need something where you'll be with the child all the time....no snorkeling or really "active" excursions where you can't hold your child (or keep hold of a stroller). Most folks with small kids will opt for a beach day...no excursions needed for that!

dancinman66 Posted August 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Every excursion will be priced differently Some would be free to two years others one year and others not allowed at all Need to look individually therefore at each excursion and ask Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Cruisin' Chick Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Ship excursions will often give a minimum age as well as give info about any reduced or free rates based on age. But personally, I would just skip the excursions for that age. You just don't know if your kid will be in one of those cranky moods, especially if teething. Shore excursions are always optional, at least for every port we've been to (I think there's a few, such as near the Panama Canal, that there's an exception). Rare Keith1010 Posted August 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Read the excursion information carefully as it will note any restrictions. Have a great time. Keith
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Both of your ports have beach opportunities which would be better for your little one. You can go and leave on your own time schedule.

You can go and leave on your own time schedule. Mayan ruins are interesting - but probably not for a baby. Beach days make the most sense - but you would want to bring some way to keep the baby in shade.
