Rare mcatmcat Posted September 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Hi When I sail with my girlfriend which is into cruising as much as I am we ( sometimes )focus on some people and then we whisper " she/ he is from cruise critic". But we don't have a real way to know, we are just making it for fun and taking a guess while we are eating lunch or simply walking in the promenade. How much percent do you think we represent when we fill the ships? Thank you!!! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Ken at the beach Posted September 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) On the vast majority of sailings I would say less than 5%. Obviously some of the unique itineraries and TA's with many more repeat cruisers this number is higher. dancinman66 Posted September 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2014 On the cruise they give out numbers of repeat cruisers Most I've been on have around 25-35 percent of cruise is repeat cruisers and platinum I and up generally around 5-10 percent. Not counting the long cruises of course Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare orville99 Posted September 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Given the fact that there are about 22,000 CC members, and Royal Caribbean has approximately 60,000 cabins booked each week, Pi would be a good guess:)

gaylemh Posted September 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2014 If Roll Calls are any indication, I would guess, depending on the ship/itinerary, about 1-3%.

Rare LMaxwell Posted September 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 14, 2014 If more than 2% I would be shocked. I doubt even over 1% for Oasis/Allure.
OSUZorba Posted September 14, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 14, 2014 On my Disney cruise, there have been over 100 cabins sign up on a different forum's roll call. So it is about 10% of the cabins on the ship. I am sure being in the fall helps, and considering that forum is for all things Disney, and people over plan all things Disney, so I am sure those numbers are skewed. rummenroman Posted September 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Well since most facts and stats are made up on the spot, I would say 9.23984678324o1i23t4% as a rough estimate. :D

TEXASMUNK Posted September 14, 2014 #17 Share Posted September 14, 2014 If your roll call has 66 people signed up and the ship hold 2400. the percentage is pretty darn low! Probably, on average, less than 3%
Scotty G Posted September 14, 2014 #18 Share Posted September 14, 2014 A few years ago CC posted that it was less than 1% of CC members who make up cruise line guests.
BND Posted September 14, 2014 #19 Share Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) I'm always amazed by the sheer number of people who do no research before they go on vacation. It's so easy to search and CC comes up in the top 5 hits when you search for any cruise topic. You'd think the numbers would be higher. Of course, you don't have to join CC to have used it for info so the number of CC members doesn't reflect those that read but never join. We've met CC members on just about every cruise and I'm talking outside of any meet and mingle. We've met a few at meals. Dont get me wrong I research the heck out of everything so much so its prolly borderline OCD. Sometime I wish I was more of a go with the flow guy.Less stress. jellyfish39 Posted September 14, 2014 #22 Share Posted September 14, 2014 On our next cruise leaving in 2 weeks we have only 18 on the roll call - Liberty holds 3600 people. I'm thinking Cruise critic is used more by North Americans and this is a Europe cruise, but even so our roll call board is very quiet.

Either do I, i always book MTD with the missus/family table only......i like to go away and relax, wind down......not really looking for new friends. Although i have met some crazy people on cruises, never planned though !
