kcparrothead Posted September 25, 2014 #101 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Question, at night are their comedy shows, my hubby and I are in are late 40s and he like to stay up and dance, go to shows at night. I was not sure if this ship shuts down by 11:00 pm other than the casino. IT was like that on our Alaska cruise, older crowd and not much night life. The adult comedy shows are 9:45 & 10:45. The Disco doesn't even open until 11pm. ;)

cruisetrail Posted September 25, 2014 Author #104 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Tiramisu Somewhere on the Splendor... A big show today. Deep sigh. The band placed nicely on the background. The proscenium (in the theater) is excellent on this class of ships a la Lido Paris. The theater is full. Just one thing to add - the show. This concludes Day 4. lorriv20 Posted September 25, 2014 #110 Share Posted September 25, 2014 We just booked our daughter's wedding cruise for next July and I have a few questions regarding the Splendor. We have never sailed on this class of Carnival ships. Our last two sailings have been on the Pride, in the Aft Wrap Suite. We have my daughter booked in a Ocean Suite because she did not want to be near the Aft of the ship. We are still considering our room or suite. I love the aft wrap balconies, as my husband and I would much rather lay out on our own balcony than the Lido. However, the aft wraps on this ship are not suites, they are class 9 C balcony. From what I can see, it is much smaller than my suite on the Pride ( my daughter's Ocean Suite also seems smaller than our Pride Suite), and they are more expensive than the Pride ( although I do recognize that this Cruise is an extra day). The other problem that we are having, is that our 7 year old grandson will be traveling with us. When looking at the 9C cabins, the only one still available that allows a third person is on the Upper deck & is right on top of the clubs and aft stage. So, now I am conflicted. I could upgrade to the Ocean Suite that is much more money and even more to add our grandson. I could downgrade to the 8M balcony, which is basically the smaller cabin and smaller balcony at the Aft of the ship. They are still available on other decks. Any advice from recent Splendor cruisers would be appreciated. I was also if anyone had some information on the Kid's Club hours and activities; the movies etc.. on the Lido; and if the Thallassotherapy pool is free for anyone to use. Thanks in advance for your responses!!
lorriv20 Posted September 25, 2014 #111 Share Posted September 25, 2014 I was also wondering if the AFT balconies ( not the wraps) have connecting balconies that can be opened upon request?

cruisetrail Posted September 25, 2014 Author #113 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Day 6 Halifax ! We are in Halifax right now. You see the weather: Buffet breakfast 30 minutes ago: There was a question about buses. Complimentary shuttle buses will be available the whole day from where we docked (I believe Pier 51 - ? - I will check) to the "Marina" - Pier 21. psikic Posted September 25, 2014 #114 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I was also wondering if the AFT balconies ( not the wraps) have connecting balconies that can be opened upon request? Not all pairs of balconies can be opened to each other. You can check to see if the divider can be opened between any two rooms by calling Carnival or by finding the cabins on this page: https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/the_fleet/splendor/cabin_Descriptions/splendor.html Look where it says "connecting balconies" Just FYI, the reason why they can't open the dividers between all balconies is sometimes the balcony divider will block the door that goes back into the stateroom. That is why about 50% of the dividers cannot be opened. Edited September 25, 2014 by psikic Added additional information
NCTribeFan Posted September 25, 2014 #115 Share Posted September 25, 2014 lorriv20 - I'm sure there's an All Things Splendor thread. You can search for it and find it. You would probably get a lot more input there in a "generic" thread than in a review. There's also a separate board just about ship cabins where you may want to ask your questions. OP - that looks like my favorite breakfast. Well, except I'd have a few more hash rounds and at least a half pound of bacon on my plate! :p
cruisetrail Posted September 25, 2014 Author #116 Share Posted September 25, 2014 We are actually at Pier 31 that is a restricted area. We have been taken to Pier 22 by a free shuttle bus. Major terminal are occupied by the Royal Princess and the Maasdam.

I tried to replace the words Splendor with Liberty and it didn't work :( You can get this information on cruisedeckplans dot com. It takes a few clicks but you can get there. It works for Carnival ships. On the home page choose your cruiseline: Carnival Then choose your ship. On the page they take you to, look down near the bottom of the page. You will find OTHER FEATURES: Click on: Extra Information. Then click on: Cabins by deck As you can see there is a lot of other information there that you might find helpful Sharon
