I Can't Wait To Sail Her Again!!!!

I'll be sure to follow this. I'll be on her in six weeks (San Juan to Miami). I'm actually a fan of the smaller ships, but I'm looking forward to sailing her. I really don't like the closed-in aft pool area on the Conquest class and think I'm going to like the aft area on Splendor much more. I don't sail for the ship, really, but I hope I like her as I'm also booked on the 1-time sailing to Bermuda.

I love reading reviews on ships that I'll be sailing soon. Keep it coming, please! :D

I can tell you the AFT on Splendor is awesome.

You do get the retractable roof at the main pool if weather is bad though

10/23/14

Actually, it's 10/23/15. I have to wait another 13 months.

I never hang around the mid-ship Lido pool area. Don't like the crowds, the noise, the big tv, etc. On Conquest class, I spend my time on Panorama up outside the upper buffet area - close enough to the pool area if I want, and a drink station inside for water/lemonade/tea.

Of course, there's always the Serenity Deck (I really missed there not being one on Conquest). I hope OP can comment whether the big TV noise pollutes the Serenity area. I found it pretty obtrusive on Glory in the afternoons. Hoping with the TV facing aft it won't be so bad.

Can I start packing yet? :D

Day 2

At Sea

New York - Boston

Morning greeted us with misty, warm, humid weather.

This is a relaxing day at sea.

Actually we try to do all days relaxing while on the cruise.

It started raining later afternoon.

So all the ctivities are Indoor.

It's pretty well in line with our plan.

This is a day for spa, food, exploring the ship.

And this is Formal night today.

The magrodome roof is closed.

This our indoor pool now..

Just a glance at the buffet interior.

We'll talk about buffet breakfast later.

The only comment now/

I performed a quicl brealfast buffet check:

Omelet to order - Yes

Smoked salmon - No

Eggs bededict - Yes (1 kind)

Muesli - No

Well, narrowly passed.

I know this not the Eurodam, but could have been a little more happy with the buffet brealfast.

Bottom line: a sort of tight variety in comparison with the Grand, but food looks good and is tasty.

It's not an east day today.

We'll have to survive Brunch, Afternoon tea and Lobster night!

Brunch on Sea Day

I will post menu later.

Plenty of salmon if you go to the restaurant:

We are not having lunch today - considering all the challeges we have to face.

More jogging, more workout to feel less guilty...

A galnce at lunch buffet.

Not a review, just a glance as we passed by and ..... actually tried nicely looking fish. No picture, sorry.

Afternoon Tea

It is served in the aft restaurant (The Golden Pearl) and well attended.

Interesting, scones come with whipped cream inside..

Another wave of smoked salmon.

Salmon is excellent, not salty...

Energy is High throughout the ship this night.

Live music everywhere.

Main show.

Live music!

"Real show" started after about 30 min.

The main woman singer is a beuty.

The band is great1

Why do they keep them deep below?

This group should have been on the stage in sparkling costumes.

We actually moved from convenien central seats to a side so that we can see the musicians!

Serenity on Splendor is the one "downside" to the ship, IMO. It is really just a bunch of padded lounge chairs. No hammocks or clam shells or hot tubs and it is directly below mini golf.:(

OP, we have been on Splendor 3x and she is a wonderful ship with a great crew. Thanks for taking me along and have a GREAT CRUISE!
