gizmodog Posted October 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2014 The princess sale is in effect today and my question is, is the coupon book worth it? I booked last week and the only thing I am missing is this coupon book, is it worth canceling and rebooking?
mom2tcdx2 Posted October 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2014 IMO no, I have received the coupon booklet before and to be honest I don't think it had any coupon in that we would have used. Not sure if someone more recent can tell you what type of coupons are in the booklet.
Thrak Posted October 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2014 I found it to be utterly useless. I'm told there used to be a 2-for-1 coffee card coupon years ago but it is no longer in the coupon book. If you spend about a zillion dollars onboard you will get a benefit but... taxmantoo Posted October 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2014 It can be quite handy to level the patio table on the balcony ;)

redtogo Posted October 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2014 The coupon book usually has lots of offers that I don't partake of, like a 10% off coupon for the jewelry shop. There are offers that if you wait long enough, there will be a day that there is an "onboard special" listed in the Patter. I end up throwing our coupon book in the garbage. baz48 Posted October 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2014 We've had the regular coupon book in our cabin - I think everyone gets this and it has always been useless to us. The only one we ever used was given by our TA, I believe, and it used to have the 2-for-1 coffee card (no longer included) and the 2-for-1 on the slot tournament entry fee. That was the only coupon I used!
redtogo Posted October 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Years ago, there was a coupon for a free coffe tumbler with purchase of a coffee card. I used that one....back then. but, it is long gone!
Wandalust725 Posted October 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 15, 2014 I find that the coupon book isn't worth the paper it is printed on. We have never used any of the coupons, ever!

2little time Posted October 15, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 15, 2014 I used ours as a doorstop. There was nothing of value in it.
TLC535 Posted October 15, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 15, 2014 It is a money making "gimmick" for Princess geared at those that are really coupon addicts ;)...other than that...worthless
canadarocks Posted October 15, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2014 There is a definite consensus that the coupon books are useless. I found the same thing on Holland America. Wonder why they keep printing the silly things? Perhaps advertisers foot the bill?
Nomsayin Posted October 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Found it useful for wedging a creaking panel in our cabin one time. Also makes a good drink coaster.

Cruz-OR Posted October 15, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 15, 2014 The coupon books would be more useful if they left them blank, then they could be used as note pads.
beg3yrs Posted October 16, 2014 #20 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Hey, what about the coupon for an extra Bingo Coverall card and a Bingo key chain? If you're already a player, why not?

Yes, you are right ... the advertisers do pay for them according to a woman on a cruise with us who was the representative from her jewelry company. Also, they pay for those glossy ad pages we often get with the Patter. LuLu
ExDean Posted October 16, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 16, 2014 The only coupon we were interested in was a 15% discount on a bottle of wine...the only bottle eligible was for $139!!! We deep sixed the booklet.

Wonder why they keep printing the silly things? Because "book this cruise and each passenger will get a coupon book worth over $300" helps to sell cruises.
