sailandcruise Posted November 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2014 The world is running out of chocolate, according to several key manufacturers of chocolate products. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/11/15/the-worlds-biggest-chocolate-maker-says-were-running-out-of-chocolate/ How will HAL deal with this? They need to develop a plan right now to avoid having to make unacceptable changes to the cruising experience when this occurs. Whichever cruise line deals with this best will get the most future business. ;)

regnig Posted November 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Not to worry as the same people who keep finding tanzanite despite years of warning that "there is no more to mine" will surely now turn their attention to chocolate.

erin_cruisers Posted November 23, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2014 I've heard similar warnings about oil, and yet they keep discovering more, so... ;) I'm more concerned about shortages of snails, or,,, limes. Funny that we never hear about a shortage of Vegemite or Marmite. Wonder why that is. :p

RuthC Posted November 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 23, 2014 This, too, shall pass. There will be another crop, and until there is, there's a little wiggle room in the cruise budget to pay the increased cost of keeping my chocolate levels up where they belong. :D

solocanadian Posted November 24, 2014 #17 Share Posted November 24, 2014 I'd miss good dark chocolate but not the haselnuts nor Hals crappy pillow chocolate. Would rather have a couple of good wine gums.
CowPrincess Posted November 24, 2014 #18 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Speaking as a chocoholic let me assure you, others will be made to suffer if my chocolate supply is diminished  You've been warned :D

Now there is a thought... Instead of chocolate on my pillow, why not a mini-bar size bottle of Cabernet... That is something I could get excited about.
