Moltar Posted January 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I still think the Radiance Class looks the best out of all the classes. They look like Yachts to me. The Quantum reminds me of a NCL design, which I hate. What is your favorite class of ship based solely on the exterior look?
Clarea Posted January 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) Voyager class from the outside. Edited January 8, 2015 by clarea
ryano Posted January 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I agree. Radiance class. From inside the ship, I also think they are the best looking as well based on all the pics Ive seen of all other ships and the ships Ive been on.
paulh84 Posted January 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2015 One vote for the Freedom Class. They still have great lines and look like a yacht despite being so large. Lately the new ships (not just RCI) look like floating Soviet-era apartment buildings.

Aquahound Posted January 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Another vote here for Radiance Class. Although not my favorite of RCI ship classes, I do think they are the nicest looking ships.
Rare Bimmer09 Posted January 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Radiance class all the way. Sleek profile. Lots of glass and no shopping mall. Norris, distant admirer

OfTheSeasCruiser Posted January 8, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Radiance Class. But I also like the look of Freedom and Voyager Class (pre-refurb, before the cabins on deck 12).

Ander026 Posted January 8, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 8, 2015 For me I like to look of the Radiance and the Enchantment from the outside. Right behind them is Freedom Class.
Clarea Posted January 8, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Radiance Class. But I also like the look of Freedom and Voyager Class (pre-refurb, before the cabins on deck 12). Agree. I think the wrecked the front line of the ship with the extra staterooms.
cruisingsince94 Posted January 8, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I love the look of Radiance class ships and its our favorite class to sail on. I enjoy the smaller crowds. Voyager class is our 2nd favorite for looks and to sail. We will not go on anything bigger than that.
dreamer976 Posted January 8, 2015 #14 Share Posted January 8, 2015 If we're talking purely RCI ships, then yes, Radiance class has my vote also; they have an elegant, classy look. Overall, however, nothing I have ever seen afloat (w/the exception of some killer private and corporate yachts) can beat any of the Disney ships. They all have the unbeatable look of a very old-school classy ocean liner.

coaster Posted January 8, 2015 #16 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Have to go with the Majesty of the Seas. Closest looking to the ocean liners of the past. The balconies that newer ships have make them look more floating hotels.
bigque Posted January 8, 2015 #17 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Pictures I took of my two favorites: 1 - Radiance class Serenade in St. Lucia 2. Freedom Class Freedom in Labadee

Jimmers Posted January 8, 2015 #20 Share Posted January 8, 2015 The Radiance Class is beautiful inside and out but I think any of them look better than the Quantum. Ugly ship, especially from the rear imo.

Rare LittleMissMagic Posted January 8, 2015 #22 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I agree with Radiance Class as the best-looking. The exterior is very nice with the glass walls, and the proportions are more pleasing than those of the larger ships. But I think the best-looking ships out there are the Disney ones, my favorite from the exterior being the Disney Wonder because I prefer the smaller proportions, and lack of duck-tail (though I'm sure they'll add it in refurb like they did with the Disney Magic)
matj2000 Posted January 8, 2015 #23 Share Posted January 8, 2015 All the new X ships are the best looking. HAL's ships are pretty cool also. RC ships look very plain and boxey, especially the larger ones. Too much white.....
vivi9909 Posted January 8, 2015 #24 Share Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) We are greatly pleased by that thread. Next week we will board the Jewel, our first RCL cruise after seven cruises on Celebrity. We are a little bit concerned by the quality of the food and service but all the positive comments about the Radiance class on this thread and some others on the forum are very encouraging. You are right, they look nice from the outside and compare well, in size and shape, to the Celebrity Millenium Class that we enjoy a lot. Some pictures of the Centrum look very impressive and we are anxious to be there soon! Taking into account the lower price, as compared to Celebrity (e.g. a cruise on the Summit leaving San Juan on the same day for a very similar itinerary), we keep our expectations at a reasonable level and expect a very enjoyable cruise with fun excursions. We should also enjoy Diamond privileges due to our Elite status on Celebrity, for example the longer free drinks period (5 to 8 on Royal) as compared to Celebrity.
