At the Captain's Corner on Jan 10, someone asked about the free wifi on that sailing (Jan 3-11), and the captain said they were hoping people would tweet about the great time they were having. :p

There is joke picture somewhere that has a sign that says, "In the event of a fire, please exit the building before tweeting about it" This made me think of that. This is not even remotely related, so to the people posting on board, I'll add a big thank you. The information has been great.

With that announcement today in Miami, tomorrow's compass shows dinner complimentary but doesn't state 18 and over. I will check for you

Based on Allure I am going to guess its not 18 and older only. People walking in and directly to the restaurant shouldnt be bothered. Just don't loiter! ;)

Yeah and surprisingly fast especially for a ship at sea:)

I don't ask people trying to enjoy their vacation to do things for me, but if you are interested, speakeasy.net is an internet speed site I frequently use in testing my customer's connections.

Just wandering. I see the menu has changed. Do they still have escargot on the menu in the Grande?

There was escargot on the Jan 3 cruise; I'm 99% sure it was in the Grande.

Funny, but sadly, in an "it's funny because it's true" kind of way. :p

The entrance to devinly decadence is close to where the regular indoor pool meets the solarium. Kids wouldn't really have to enter the solarium proper to get to the restaurant. The solarium bar and all the pools/hot tubs and most of the chairs are waaaay in front of the restaurant, and anyone entering the restaurant wouldn't have to go past them. Not an ideal set-up, for sure, but not horrible - it's not like kids would have to parade through the whole solarium to go eat.

It's definitely a beautiful area. I wish we had spent more time there.

12.82mbps download

.46 mbs upload

Ping 603 ms

Couldn't use speakeasy since it required adobe and I have an iPad so used another speed test. Is this good?

Agreed it doesn't say 18 and older on doors either but will still inquire

ok it is not complimentary for all meals but with it being in the Solarium, is it still ADULT only??

It is complimentary for all meals and I stopped there today to ask about kids under 18 and they said that was fine and they have a kids menu as well. So they said breakfast, lunch, and dinner kids are welcome with their parents.

Update: tonight we are docked in San Juan. Where the Caribbean Festival is being held.

Things I have noticed:

The theater chairs has air vents on the back of each one which normally people get cold in the theater but it appeared to be just right

Today after docking in San Juan the maintenance crew removed the panels on the outside of our hallway of cabins and each cabin has an air filter about three times the size of an upright vacuum cleaner. I am hoping that helps block the spread of illnesses.

There is a night light that stays on in the bathroom when you turn off the bathroom light. It is just part of the light above the mirror that stays on but someone is really looking at feedback when designing the interiors.

Tonight we go see Starwater. We have eaten all dinners in the Windjammer and the food has been very good. They even had fillet mignon two nights ago and tonight was crab legs, fish, and prawn cocktails amongst many other selections. I have never seen the a Windjammer this crowded at nights and it isn't because the other restaurants are full either.

More later:)

WOW! Filet and crab legs. Maybe I won't mess with the headache of making dining reservations and just go to the Windjammer.

They didn't have that on the 12/12 sailing. Maybe too many people ended up in the Windjammer and they had to up the ante.

Do you know which tribute band is performing in the Music Hall on your sailing? Any chance it is Beatlemania?

Can you ask who will be the tribute band on the next sailing leaving on January 23?

Thanks.

We had Journey Tribute band until I think yesterday and now it is Bon Jovi Tribute band. I will try to see who will be on your sailing.

Husband is totally satisfied with the Windjammer food and he never eats at a buffet style land based restaurant.

Last night the special was crepes. I also found a taco station. In case I didn't mention it the Windjammer makes fresh how you want omelettes at breakfast and I have never seen one side closed.

Last night as we were walking by we saw Jamie's quite full at ninish and Izumi as well.

We saw Starwater which was very good 2 nights ago and the guest entertainer last night, Harrison ventriloquist.

Today is Martinque. More later:)

Also on this cruise and enjoying it. Ship is gorgeous and Love the free wifi. Rooms are well designed and good storage. Room steward is great. Have an obstructed balcony and I would book this again. Can see ocean from the bed. Dynamic dining has worked out ok for us so far with no wait times for our reservations. Food overall has been pretty good except for the beef ribeye and beef tenderloin in the complimentary restaurants which were more like prime rib but worse. Our favorite restaurant so far has been Jaimie's which we booked again and least favorite was the grande (in and out in 50 minutes, poor beef and cold coffee). Wait staff has overall been very good and they have some assistants. Our biggest complaint is that the Casino is so smoky!!! There is no ventilation and your clothes end up stinking after a few minutes in there. Really can't tolerate the smoke so won't go back. They will offer a nonsmoking table but that really won't help. Have never experienced smokiness like this. Lots of trivia throughout the day and plenty to do at night. Bumper cars are fun! We didn't care for the show Star water although the entertainers were talented. Momma Mia was excellent though! Booked anthem for next year.

It's probably being used as a general smoking area to avoid going outside which will make it worse. Does the smoke filter through to other areas or is it confined to the casino and can you get to other areas without having to walk through it?

Appreciate that there needs to be smoking areas but it is so unusual these days to have an indoor area where smoking is allowed!

Guess it will save me loosing any money!

ps - what are the show times for Mamma Mia?

Smoke seems confined to casino thank goodness. Mama Mia was at 4:30 one day and 8:30 another day. There may have been an additional time.

Thank you:) I have been able to make all of our dining reservations, unfortunately they don't post the entertainment times for another 2 months - when they do there will be a lot of people changing reservations to get times to line up.

Personally I don't care when or where I eat - just point me to the nearest bar with a midnight snack to soak up all the booze....bliss!!

Martinique was better than what I was expecting. Husband has a very bad cold so he stayed in bed today and also today in Barbados.

Yesterday I watched the movie Gravity in 3d then went to to the port area of Martinique and got a gift for my grand daughter.

Last night at the windjammer was Mongolian a Grill which they made fresh in front of you with the veggies and sauce to your liking. It was excellent. Then I made my way down to deck 5 for next cruise and booked two cruises for the Anthem both 12 day southern Caribbean.

I have noticed that a lot of people stay on the ship instead of getting off so apparently they are making the ship their destination which is way cool!!

Barbados had a shuttle bus running all day from the ship to the cruise terminal with shops. Husband stayed in bed and I went to the terminal and got another gift for my grand daughter.

The casino does have a non smoking area that is located if you were to enter it from the aft section. I don't see it drifting into there. I am an ex-smoker for 11 years now and can't tolerate smoke all around but I haven't seen that happening at this casino.

To the person who asked me about escargot at the Grande....yes they have it

Still loving it!!!!!!! More to come
