Mapleleaf5 Posted January 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2015 We are doing the Sea Trek at Coral World. Our trek is at 2pm for 1 hr, does this allow us enough time to get back to the ship for 4:30pm as we leave at 5pm. What is the cost from Havensight to Coral World by cab, please Thanks, Joanne

yankee46 Posted March 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2015 about 9.00 per person for taxi
SFplusP Posted March 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2015 Does anyone know if kids of a certain age ride free? We have 2 adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old. $36 each way is a little steep. That would be more than it would cost to get into the park!

SFplusP Posted March 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2015 We have been on two cruises and our biggest expense off the ship has been taxis. No kidding! But it would only be $50 to get into Coral world for us, I'm not gonna spend $72 just getting there lol. If the baby can't ride free we'll probably just skip it and hang on the ship. t2limar Posted July 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2015 Just wonder if you could share your experience of Sea Treking @ Coral World as I am thinking to do it too. Thanks. :)
SFplusP Posted July 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 3, 2015 We did not do Sea Trek, but we did Coral World. It was fun, but very small. We did everything in about 2 hours. We went to the beach right next door for another hour and a half, til our arranged pick up time, and the beach was lovely. Fish everywhere, and shallow enough to walk out pretty far. I would say since we ended up getting an excursion that included transportation, it was worth it, but I would NOT have wanted to spend the $72 to get there and back. Sea Trek may make a difference. We saw some other people doing it, and it looked interesting, but not for us, especially with the kids.
SFplusP Posted July 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 3, 2015 A map of the park is available on their website so you can see what all the exhibits are. We also got to meet a sea lion, that was neat. But the map makes it look semi big, it's not. You can see the back from the front.
zqvol Posted July 3, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 3, 2015 Everyone pays the taxi fare regardless of age.
Marie51 Posted July 3, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2015 Following, would also like to know the cab price Four weeks ago the taxi from Coral World/Coki Beach to Havensite was $10/pp. Same price for kids.

beautifulbill Posted July 23, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 23, 2015 The charge for kids is not consistent. Some will charge and some wont. you can ask but I would assume they will charge and hope they don't.
Mich3 Posted August 10, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I read that the "red hook" bus has a stop near the port and Coral World. Has anyone had experience taking the bus?
O2B@Cagain Posted August 10, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 10, 2015 The bus route is the same as the safari route. You would have to walk about 1/2 mile from the drop off in Smith Bay.
Ms411 Posted August 10, 2015 #17 Share Posted August 10, 2015 The bus route is not the same as the safari route. Besides, the bus only runs every 2 hours M-F, and may not run on local holidays.
O2B@Cagain Posted August 11, 2015 #18 Share Posted August 11, 2015 The bus goes on a different road? They both drop off at the corner in Smith Bay. They both go around the east end. Not sure how the routes can differ.
PSkinner Posted August 11, 2015 #19 Share Posted August 11, 2015 does the excursion for Sea Trek thru Carnival include transportation? That might be a cheaper way of going.
Monthend Posted August 30, 2015 #20 Share Posted August 30, 2015 We did the Helmet Dive on two cruises. Everyone loved it and it included transportation and admittance.
Ms411 Posted August 30, 2015 #21 Share Posted August 30, 2015 O2B, there are several bus routes, but most go near the public housing whereas safaris only go by the ones in town. Yes, the bus goes the same road as safari near Coki, but the route is longer before getting to that road. If buses used same route as safari, no need for buses. O2B@Cagain Posted August 31, 2015 #22 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Ms 411: Yes, there are different bus routes. But if they get on either a bus or safari to the east end, they are still going to drop off at the same place and walk that last section... As you know, the safari system started because there was no reliable bus service. It would be nice to see them police the safaris so that the buses could actually be the public transportation system. Ms411 Posted August 31, 2015 #23 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Reliable public transportation is not a U.S. concept, and St Thomas is a U.S. Virgin Island.
