zteamtwo Posted February 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2015 At today's chat with the CEO of Royal. Mr. Bayley, said that upgrades to suites were coming this Spring. We are sailing on the Allure this November in a GS. What does everyone think the upgrades might be? What would all of you Diamond "divas" like to see? I will guess some type of "butler" service in GS and above, similar to NCL.
RocketMan275 Posted February 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I'm interested too. But, I think He said they new perks would be announced this spring. Not sure that is the same as saying they will be in place this spring.
George C Posted February 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2015 We had a suite with butler on celebrity - no big deal, I would like a real priority line to getting on ship, being in same line as gold and diamond etc was almost as slow as normal line ( we are also diamond)

39august Posted February 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I have NO desire for a butler. But I would like a true priority suite line for check in. Perhaps the concierge lounge will become exclusive for suites and Pinnacles. That has to happen at some point. This spring is not far away, so we should hear something fairly soon. RSLeesburg Posted February 10, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2015 When we have sailed in GS out of Baltimore, there was always a suite only check in priority line - never any wait, just walk right up and check in. Is this not provided at other ports?
DCT61 Posted February 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2015 Having had butler service on NCL and CELEBRITY, to me its a perk in name only. Never used them and didn't see the point in them. I would hope for a priority line at the service desk like PRINCESS has.
39august Posted February 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) No priority suite check in line at FLL or Galveston. I have seen on a couple of cruses a priority suite line, but it also included D+ which was fine with me. Can't remember which ships. RSLeesburg Posted February 10, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I'll let you know on Sunday. We are DP in an OS :) Have a great time. One perk I would love to have would be similar to Carnival's FTTF, where your room is ready when you board - so you can immediately access your suite. That would be great! Is this not provided at other ports? In the old terminal and now the new terminal, Bayonne has a priority check in line for JS and above. Cindy Posted February 11, 2015 #19 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I would love to see them put in a dedicated restaurant, along the lines of BLU or the soon-to-be Luminae on Celebrity. We really prefer a smaller, quieter venue to the MDR, and we found BLU on Celebrity met that need. My husband and I thought Coastal Kitchen on the Oasis was a good step in the right direction, and I think it could be made even better if it was re-imagined a little bit to have several menus instead of just the one they were using in November. I think now that DD is off the table, they will need more variety for CK to really be successful. Other things I'd like to see...drink packages, specialty dining credit, laundry, internet, and a better way to entertain en suite. We were able to throw a party in our suite,on HAL, and the concierges arranged everything for us. They even printed invitations! Friends hosted a party and several dinners on Celebrity (the butler arranged everything), but on RCI it seems to take an act of congress to entertain in a suite. I was in an Aqua Suite on Oasis, and it was in question if I was even going to be able to get a tray of cookies without having to pay for them.:( The same thing happened on the Mariner a couple years ago, when I was in an OS and I was working with the occupants of the RS to have a party at the end of the cabin crawl. The food doesn't cost them anything, and why would you tell your suite guests to either a) get the food from the Windjammer, or b) order it from room service? One more thing I'd like to see is more consistency across the fleet. Is suite breakfast served in a specialty restaurant? What about a quiet place to eat lunch? Passengers should be able to count on things like that being available when they book a suite, unless it's specifically stated otherwise. One more thing...stop scheduling the suite cocktail party at 11:00 in the morning! Put it back in the evening when more people will be eager to attend! 39august Posted February 11, 2015 #20 Share Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) I am not surprised that Oasis had a suite priority check in. And Allure will probably have that too. But Indy did not two weeks ago at FLL. Different terminals. Edited February 11, 2015 by 39august

Totally agree - on our last cruise, they scheduled this at 11am directly after the M&M. I had to choose between the party or attending slot pull and cabin crawl. It was an 8 night cruise, they did not have to schedule these back-to-back... Sent from my iPad using Forums
MichaelCMTX Posted February 11, 2015 #24 Share Posted February 11, 2015 What are some of the suite perks on Celebrity that RC doesn't offer? The Mardi Gras booking we did got me paying attention to the differences and perks. We managed to snag a Sky Suite, far as I know Veranda is the best remaining available on that one. First off was that in the suite you got all 3 bits of their 123Go promo. So that meant a drink package (not the top-shelf liquor but I think more than sufficient for our needs), Prepaid gratuities and $300 OBC. Also in with the suite was a cruise up to 7 nights got 1 comp Specialty Dining, 8 or more got 2 comp specialty dining nights. Heck, with that and the 1-2 of 123Go I'm not sure what we'll use the rest of the OBC on. Spa stuff? There some other stuff but these perks alone made for a pretty tasty deal w/Celebrity.
