molly361 Posted March 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2015 I can't think of any but figured I would ask if there are any downsides to the last cruise before a Repo? Looking at either the Freedom's last cruise out of PC next October or the Oasis out of FLL. Both seem overpriced to me but there's a LONG time to watch them. HiCSailor Posted March 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2015 The only thing that comes to mind is the possibility of some work being started early, which could either close off some areas, affect the aesthetics, or create noise. That alone wouldn't stop me from booking, and I'm sure Royal is adept at delivering the WOW, even while they spruce things up, but it is a consideration. cx7owner Posted March 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Before repo is much better than before dry dock, where work often does start during the cruises leading up to it. The two things can come to mind are that that is sometimes when they make big crew changes (so you might get a brand new crew or one on their last cruise) and the themed Tshirts and other souvenirs might be in short supply (but the ones that are left will probably be heavily discounted). GUT2407 Posted March 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Why would there be, even on repo's no issues.
Merion_Mom Posted March 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I agree with GUT. A repositioning cruise is just another cruise. They don't do anything special, good or bad on it, to the ship.

This is a repo cruise, which is different than a pre - drydock cruise. Unless of course, it is the Allure which is a doing a repositioning just before a dry dock. Rare BillOh Posted March 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 16, 2015 I've been on the last Caribbean cruise before Repo elsewhere at least twice. and did see deeper than usual discounts on t-shirts, especially Caribbean based ones.

reallyitsmema Posted March 24, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2015 The only cruise prior to a repo that I remember reading issues is when Mariner repositioned to Asia. They made major changes to the casino and shops on board and some of that work started early. With both Freedom and Oasis staying in Florida, they should just be normal cruises.
