I received a premier offer in my name. I understand my cabin mate will also get the drink card. Do they also get put in the drawings?

Yes, cabin mate gets everything you do except for the casino cash (unless he/she also received the premier offer in his/her name).

  • 2 weeks later...

I just convinced someone to join me on the 11/28 Sunshine Premier and I've insisted to her that she'll get everything except the casino cash.

I do hope they're consistent in this area (because you know Carnival doesn't always handle things the same way all the time).

I may email the Players Club just to double-check. What you said is what I've read before but she won't be happy with me if I'm wrong!

Just got back from a premiere casino cruise on the Splendor. The first night they threw us a party before dinner in one of the lounges. It was a great party and they spared no expense. The drinks were flowing (anything you wanted) and really good sushi, chicken, little hot dogs, cheese balls-they just kept coming with the food. At the party they had the first of many drawings for money prizes. In your room were two drinks on us cards two nice cups, a lanyard and a list of times for the events in the casino. When the casino opened you went to the cage to receive your cruise cash. Every night they sent something to the room-chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, champagne, a nice stainless steel thermos and cups in a carrying case and on the last night I received two steakhouse selections in the MDR. They had several special drawings and free slot tournaments if you qualified. The players club really did a great job. Hope you enjoy yours as much.

Sounds really good. Just curious, what did you wager over the week to be eligable for all of this?

We (hubby, sister and I) received an offer from the Casino a few years ago. When we finally decided to book the cruise prior to the deadline on the notice the PVP we had at the time told us we had waited too long to receive the gifts and cash listed on the invitation. Since we were planning on cruising anyway we went ahead and booked but were disappointed because supposedly we waited too long. My notice told me I was to receive $1200, my husband $975 and my sister $1125. Imagine my surprise when we arrived at the port and our boarding passes couldn't be found, turns out they were in the area for the Premier cruise. We had the bubbly when we got to our cabin, strawberries and chocolate almost every day, invitations to parties. My husband went to the casino cage to get change and found out he had casino cash. I was in our cabin at the time. He called me and told me to get downstairs and get my funds, I called my sister and told her to get hers. Best cruise I've been on to date. I took home $1200 that I wasn't expecting from the casino!!! We also got the beach towels, they are plush and beautiful.

I hope your luck is as good as ours was.

Well, I wrote to the Players Club to confirm that my cruise buddy would also participate in all the activities (except receiving casino cash).

Here's the response...

"Your cabin companion will receive an ON US drinks card and will be included in the Welcome Cocktail party. However, she will not be able to participate in any other Premiere activities."

This is not what I'd read here or what I'd been told back when I asked before my first Premier cruise.

So, who else out there has booked a Premier cruise and taken someone with them who did not receive the offer. Recently experience only, please!

The "other" things would be the drawings. I was under the impression that both in cabin were in the drawings, but couldn't prove it by me. I nor my husband won any of the drawings. You must get a certain amount of points to be in the slot tournament. Just being premiere doesn't get you in that. The other perks come to your cabin like chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, etc. There are enough for both of you. The welcome party is really nice and you both are invited. Drinks in casino are really nice for both of you too.

My husband and I have been on two premieres and going on the ultra in November on the Magic. We both received the offer so I assume both of us will be entered in all drawings.

Yes, my past two cruises have been Premier but I've gone solo. I did email them before Freedom 11/20/14 and asked because I thought maybe my DD could join me and the response was that other than the casino cash, anyone sharing the cabin would participate in all the activities.

So, that's what I told the person who is joining me on Sunshine.

I decided to get confirmation of that and received the reply I posted earlier.

Really don't want/need the food things in the cabin (already get the chocolates as a Platinum and never touch them; certainly don't need two plates) and while the cookies were good - again - I don't need them. It's not like I'm not already overeating when I sail!

The bottle of bubbly is nice. :D

So, yes, basically what I'm asking is whether she will be included in the drawings. I haven't won the big daily drawings but I've won some of the little games.

Will they leave two gifts in the cabin or just the one?

I am the gambler in the family. Hubby will lose about $20 the entire trip.

In September of 2014 I sailed on a premier. I got the DOU card and so did hubby. He did not have any casino cash but was eligible for the games. In fact on night he won the chance to play a ping pong ball game and bounced it into the $50 bag. And another night he had the lucky card and won $300. I was happy for him because it offset all my slot loses.

Glad to hear you have a cabin mate who will get the perks of premier cruise. I received premier cruise offer, we booked Splendor for Jan. 24th, my birthday cruise as well! will be picking your brain when you get back from Splendor in Oct. as we have never been on this ship.

Our first premiere I was the only one with the offer. There were two carnival cups in the room with our lanyards and DOU cards when we got there. Only one gift at the end of the cruise. When we both were offered the premiere the next time, there were two cups at the beginning and at the end two carnival towels. They are very nice.

Nice to know that the other person is indeed in the drawings. We haven't won anything so in that case you really don't know. We both received the offer on e-mail and snail mail. I will be taking it with me.

Well, I was really hoping the Players Club might be a little more consistent that Carnival, but it doesn't seem that they are. :o

I've received all the goodies (photo from Freedom sailing posted above). I'm guessing they just stuff those bags and the only thing in them that is different from one bag to another is the drinks card. Only the one gift at the end, which was all I was expecting. Left the portfolio in the cabin but brought home the beach towel. No steakhouse invite or wine at dinner.

Must bear in mind that my Premier offers are "only" for $300 casino cash with slightly-reduced cabin fare, so I'm obviously not one of their high rollers. In fact, I'm surprised I started getting the Premier offers in the first place as I've never gotten a pack-and-play or bounce-back offer. But I do cruise 2-3 times a year and I do spend most of my evenings in the casino, even though I don't spend $$$ in there. So I'm happy with the offers I receive (a bounce-back at the end of Sunshine would be nice, though).

I'll let you know what the response is. I emailed back and told them that this latest response contradicted what Michael had told me previously.

Pat - I sailed Splendor last fall (San Juan to Miami) and did a review. I didn't love her like some seem to, but I really don't care about the ship. Still, I'm looking forward to the spa balcony and plan on making use of the Thalassotherapy Pool and heated ceramic loungers!

OK, so here's the response from the Players Club...

"Yes we have changed our Premiere policy. Your guest will be invited to our cocktail party and will receive an On Us drinks card."

Figures. I tell someone that they'll get everything I get except the cash and turns out I lied! Whoops!

I'll tell you what. If I do not get a bounce-back offer at the end of that cruise (it's 11 nights! I should have plenty of points and I don't have another cruise booked), I'll be rather upset.

I know this all sounds greedy and/or ungrateful. I'm just tired of seemingly everyone else getting better offers, freebies, shared perks, etc., but when it comes to me, they seem relatively tight-fisted.

But maybe it's because I actually have a gambling budget and tend to stick to it. I refuse to bankrupt myself just to get a "free" cruise. :p

  • 2 months later...

Just booked our 2nd Premier cruise today. Decided the deal was great so booked the southern Caribbean March 2016. Got a Free Ocean view cabin but upgraded to a Ocean suite .....Plus they gave me $1,000 Free Cash in the casino n the wife gets $400. Plus Free drinks n some gifts

Total for the 8 day cruise was only $2,000 for 3 of us. 3rd person gets $300 cash too. So the cruise is basically Near Free w all the cash we get back 😜

Of course we"ll all be gambling loads n hopefully come out even further ahead lol Wishful Thinking Anyway 😜😜🍀🍀

Make sure you bring your mailer with you that states the amount of cash u have coming...On our first Premier cruise I had $1,000 cash as well and when I went to the casino cage they tried saying I only had $100 coming...I showed them the mailer and Ohhh your correct Sir here's your $1,000 Were Sorry bout the confusion and I've read and seen this happen to a few other people as well

Looking forward to the Drawings as well and didn't notice them on the last cruise. Prob wasn't paying attention lol

Can't wait for March to get here 😄😆😜😜🍀🍀🍀💰💰

We finally were able to take ours this past May on the 8 night southern caribbean Valor....needless to say, the casino was so very crowded at all times, it was difficult to find and get the machines we wanted and they tighten the odds even more, in fact, the table stakes were raised higher than they normally are. The perks are nice but now if you also purchase the Cheers program as we do (we don't want to be limited to the casino to get a drink and be seating at a machine that we loosing on waiting for our drink to come) they now count those drinks towards the Cheers program. The incentives/goodies we got were very nice but we always got those goodies on every Carnival cruise excluding the lanyards, cups and the the beach towels...also, the Premier gives you priority boarding and luggage we also had FTTF, so many people take these offers and our luggage arrived the latest it ever was on any cruise.....everybody else got theirs...I mentioned this and they said they were all swamp because so many people took advantage of the Premier that there was nothing to do. They have contests a lot, we never won a thing and were in the casino day and night.

We paid $1900 for a balcony on the Empress deck and my other half got back $900 and I got back $125, that part was nice and the fact we got a free cruise/interior any cruise we wanted, only we were restricted when to use it within three months, we had to decline the offer due to the fact we had a two week vacation within that time frame to Aruba.

That was our first and last premier cruise, it was a nice experience and truly appreciate the casino to offer it to us but we rather pay the full price and have the casino less crowded and easier to win.

The casinos are always crowded. After two Premier sailings, I just sailed Splendor to Bermuda and the casino was just as crowded on that (not a Premier) as it had been on the prior two that were Premier.

I posted above about what I was told regarding the fact that my travel companion will apparently only receive the drinks card. She decided to check with them to see if she might receive "some" casino cash thanks to her play on Splendor and was told she wouldn't receive anything! Not even the drinks card!

So, I'm taking the email with me where I was told she'd at least receive the drinks. I'll be rather upset with them if they can't at least do that after saying they would. I suspect this may be my last Premier sailing (since I have #25 booked for spring and once I use my Milestone OBC, I'm off to broaden my cruiseline horizons).

I don't find the casinos crowded just the premier cruise was obsessively crowded. Your travel companion if in the same stateroom as you, should of gotten a drinks on us card! If you have a problem speak to the casino manager.

I am 52 going on my 60th cruise in three weeks and we do love and cruise RC along with Princess at times....stay away from NCL it is our most disliked cruise line for so many reasons!!!!!!
