I have seen references to DW and DH and occasionally DS and DD. what the heck do these mean? All I can guess are Da Wife, Da Husband, Da Son and Da Daughter.

"darling wife, darling husband, darling son , darling daughter"....is what that all means

I'm curious as to why these abbreviations are used? It was a little learning curve when I joined Cruise Critic but now I even find myself thinking in terms like DH DW etc :-)

Maybe dear grand daughter in law 2 times removed?

I personally like using DH because it's one less letter than typing Bob. But then again, some of you might not know who Bob is to me, so DH works better. :-)

I had a good friend who was an Englishman and a Barrister.

His DW didn't drive and was always referred to as "She Who Must be Conveyed".
