paul929207 Posted April 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2015 Most cruise lines do not allow a TA to discount the cruise fare. Some will give extra perks like OBC, or a free drink package. You have to check around to find them
paul929207 Posted April 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2015 Sorry, I did not notice this was the Princess section. Princess is one of the few that allows a TA to discount. However, they are not allowed to advertise the discount. You must ask for a quote. We have a TA that usually gives us about 15% off the current Princess fare plus some OBC

When I checked on line they all had the exact same price? Just make sure you do your research as far as a TA. ;)
MCC retired Posted April 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) TA's can and should always do better than booking direct . Princess allows TA's to discount the rates that you see @ Princess.com or phone. However , since they can't advertise these better offers , you must contact them for an actual Quote . Cruisin' Chick Posted April 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 28, 2015 Ask your friends, family members and co-workers who have been on a cruise if they can recommend a TA for you. For a first cruise, consider a cruise specialist rather than just booking with some online company that won't be able to steer your to the right cruise line, ship and itinerary for you. Pam in CA Posted April 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 28, 2015 Am planning to purchase a 10 day to Mexico. Which site gives the best price and perks? When I checked on line they all had the exact same price? All sites will have the same pricing so without requesting specific booking fares, you won't see any differences. As said, ask around for TA recommendations since Princess allows TA to discount fares and you can save 10-20%. Many TAs choose not to do so. You don't have to ask for special pricing just go to a on line TA and do a mock booking and there is a 100-200 savings as compared to the Princess prices.
