GradUT Posted May 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I expected to see something about this on Cruise Critic. The suspect, who has confessed to the murder, left last week with his family for the Alaska cruise the day after he killed his next-door neighbors in Rockville, Maryland. He was arrested on Saturday in Juneau as he was disembarking for a whale-watching excursion. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/neighbor-of-rockville-couple-charged-in-mothers-day-double-homicide/2015/05/17/4cf92fd2-fca7-11e4-8b6c-0dcce21e223d_story.html?hpid=z2

Zuki Posted May 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Stunned in Colorado. It makes you wonder what is happening with these young men to make them so heartless and have no empathy? Some sort of disconnect in the brain. Extremely tragic situation and bravo to the police for tracking him down so quickly.

Finally found one which worked out the only ship scheduled in the port at the time was Coral Princess. Edited May 19, 2015 by dides

cherylandtk Posted May 19, 2015 #18 Share Posted May 19, 2015 News reports state the 31 year old man still lived with his parents in the same house he grew up in. The parents appear to have taken him on the cruise with them and were unaware of his actions. The suspect was found with blood soaked money in his wallet. The police linked him as a suspect from similarities to a prior burglary of the same house 17 years earlier as well as links to items stolen from a different neighbor two weeks before the murder. Pierlesscruisers Posted May 19, 2015 #23 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Too bad they can't just tie him to one of the props for the trip back. Or, even better, tie him to a rope (er, line) off the back of the ship and use him for bait while trawling for sharks!
letsgo39 Posted May 19, 2015 #24 Share Posted May 19, 2015 This is really scary and a really good reminder that a ship is like a big city. Do not let your kids wander around and always be aware who is around you.
elliair Posted May 20, 2015 #25 Share Posted May 20, 2015 WOW what balls. Take your family on a cruise the day after you murder people. How about sitting down to dinner with this creep! Or having a room next to him and his family! His whale watching days are over and rightly so.
