does a travel agent earn commission booking their own cruise?

It would depend on the line.

 

If it is not a TA discounted cruise, then she would be paying like a normal customer. On Princess (a line that discounts) she would pay her parent company their fee but wouldn't charge herself commission.

 

Now on a line that doesn't discount such as RCCL - she would probably give OBC to herself as they can do that but not discount.

 

Not a TA but purely speculating here.
