Life is Good Cruising Posted August 30, 2017 #1152 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Had my TA check on all of my bookings and can only save on one of them - the Panama Canal cruise on Vision in Nov 18. If I am willing to switch from Refundable to Nonrefundable I will save $2K. Since this is one cruise that I will definitely be keeping (not that I'm not planning on keeping them all, right now) I told her to go ahead and make the change. Saving $2K is worth a low risk chance of losing $200. All 5 of my other bookings are higher even with switching to NRD so no savings there. Thanks for the heads up. Since the Panama Canal cruise is sold out my category (suites) I could not determine that there was that big a difference in the baseline prices. Having my TA was the only way to know about it. Whopee to you too :D, that's a nice chunk of savings. I looked back over the last several pages and couldn't find the post I was looking for....but for whomever was looking for the Beach Bash announcement, I just got one in my email. Nov 19 (5 nights) on NAV out of MIA Dec 4 (5 nights) on Vision out of Galveston Nov. 19 (7 nights) on Rhapsody out of TPA Dec 10 (7 nights) on Oasis out of PC Dec 3 (6 nights) on Freedom out of PE Dec 11 (7 nights) on Brilliance out of TPA I received the first email for the Beach Bash BBQ on August 10, received another today. Would love to go but already booked for 12 nights on Anthem for early December.
betty barnacle Posted September 1, 2017 #1153 Share Posted September 1, 2017 I was pretty happy with this offer for a comped Junior Suite over Christmas (Dec 23-29). We just paid a total of $169 for taxes and fees. We also have a comped 7 day balcony booked in October. So far we are very happy with Casino Royale. casino rate capture.pdf

If you would not mind a few questions.... How many points did you have to accumulate to receive those offers? Which ship/ships did you sail on? What were you playing slots, table games, etc. Thanks so much for any extra info you can provide and good luck on the upcoming cruises.

We just paid a total of $169 for taxes and fees. We also have a comped 7 day balcony booked in October. So far we are very happy with Casino Royale. That's awesome. You obviously had some serious play time and high betting. What game did you play? If tables, avg bet and time? Only asking to see how consistent they are in giving points. I've been a CR member for many years and they've taken away or reduced our benefits so much. Last couple of cruises- I got a comp inside but compared to what i used to get previously for the same play and same betting (roulette) its less than before. The next cruise I checked with the host the last night and they had my avg bet less than HALF of what it actually is! I bet consistently minimum $75! Play the same numbers every spin. They said they would verify with pit boss and correct it. When I got back- and called - they didn't change it and I got ZERO offer or cert on that cruise. Luckily I won $400 so I didn't care but that made me think the PREVIOUS they probably shorted me on my avg bet (I never did check to see what they had me down for). So not only am I getting screwed not even getting kissed lol. So next week I will be all over the pit bosses to show them my bets and make sure they get it correct! It's frustrating. What were you playing slots, table games, etc. Thanks so much for any extra info you can provide and good luck on the upcoming cruises. I don't know how many points, we were on Liberty of the Seas and we play slots. At the end of the 7 day cruise we were both provided with cruise certificates for a balcony - and the offers have continued coming via email and snail mail ever since. We were in the casino daily and I think the trick was we bet max on the spins. Depending on the machine that was usually between $2.00 and $5.00 per spin. The machines are tight, but they did pay enough back to actually play -- they never just took our money after a few minutes. I hit a $2,800 jackpot on a $2.25 spin on one of the machines; that was fun!

We play slots and were in the casino a few hours every night betting max on a good number of the spins. What happened to you sounds like what happened to us on Princess. I hope they get it straightened out for you. After moving over to Royal Caribbean we are shocked at the better comps and treatment we have received over the Princess casinos. What were you playing slots, table games, etc. Thanks so much for any extra info you can provide and good luck on the upcoming cruises. If you're playing slots, these are the points needed to receive a complimentary room, you'll still need to pay for port taxes grats. & insurance. One slot point=$5 of play and one slot point on VP=$10 of play. We all know these cruises are not really free ;) 2400 points ---free inside room 3600 points----free ocean-view room 4800 points----free balcony room If you're a table player, CR is looking for a player to play $25-$50 a hand, a spin or a roll, 3-4 hours a day. They have a secret formula they use for table players, which is your bet amount and the number of hours played. Best of luck to you in the casino :)

Hi Alla :D That flyer not new, I received one like that last year in the early part of 2016 via snail mail. The flyer had different sailings for different room categories. The complimentary cruise on the flyer is an addition to the regular certificates that we've earned, so players basically earn another free cruise with this flyer. betty barnacle Posted September 5, 2017 #1163 Share Posted September 5, 2017 FYI - Just got a certificate on Grandeur and it was the old type. Hi Lady! This offer isn't the same as the ones given on the cruise ships, this one was received in the mail. I think the offers given on board always say either balcony, ocean view or interior, but as another poster said, if you call Casino Royale they can check to see if any other offers are available based on play. We also receive offers via email, such as this recent one for a complimentary interior stateroom and tournament entry. We get offers frequently - more than we have vacation time for - an equal mix of interior, balcony, or junior suite.

Artemus Posted September 5, 2017 #1165 Share Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) I just got that offer in the mail too even though my options are not as good. I get them on a regular basis, about every 3 months. I'm getting ready to go on a comped balcony cruise from one of these offers I received earlier this year. We always get a regular certificate after every cruise, also, for a balcony or ocean view. Edited September 5, 2017 by Artemus

RFerrington Posted September 8, 2017 #1168 Share Posted September 8, 2017 We both got savings certificates (as opposed to "free" cruises) on our recent Grandeur sailing and I am sad to confirm that: (1) They no longer allow combining casino rate + certificate discount (2) They will not allow you to use your certificates more than 12 months away from the date of the certificate. I went to book a new sailing, using the certificates and the first representative would not bend on either of these rules so I hung up and called back. The second agent was firm on #1 but did allow me to use my certificates on a cruise we booked for October 2018 (slightly more than 12 months from now). So they apparently aren't as strict about #2 as they are about #1. Still, big disappointment that the comps are being so quickly eroded for Club Royale. I have 5 cruises booked where I combined certificates with casino rates and now that comp is gone. Very disappointing.

I'm not surprised to read a rep is gone from Club Royal. I am sure they get tired of having to say "no, that is not how we can do it anymore" or "sorry, I cannot do that even for a Club Royal VIP". They probably went over to NCL or another line that knows how to treat people who are willing to spend money in the casino. JMHO

Not sure what if is but from what I heard it sounds organized at least It is very organised with no 'guessing' as with RCCL. I was one of the first to use the new system. Cruised on Solstice on day of implementation. Casino manager & host were on top of it. I'm at Sapphire level and happy with their program. Always cruise comped and very discounted on 2nd leg if doing B2B. Happy sailing Sent from my iPad using Forums

I wasn't able to use the certificate (very recently) They can't (new rules) even apply it to an upgrade on a suite. It sounds like they may be running both Blue chip and RCCL the same. I also lost my regular rep. She left the company. :(
svillager Posted September 19, 2017 #1175 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Has anyone used a certificate lately ? I had a balcony certificate that I wanted to apply the 1,000 value to an already booked cruise. They are back at insisting that they have to reprice the Cruise to add a certificate - making the certificate worthless. I had no problems last week, yet two different operators insist that's always been the rules, when I called today - and I did call twice, since you always seem to get different answers when you call. I know they did that awhile back but backed it out - but now it appears to be back. What use is the certificate ? I have cruises booked thru 2019 and except for a few they have all gone up on price. I'm wondering if anyone else has recently used a certificate on an already booked cruise.
