Heads up,  they have new onboard Certificates out, and they have added a new level for Junior Suites (8000 points). Signature event onboard the Oasis was great, real glad that I was able to make it.  Will try to get a little review of what all they did.  They had a lot of players onboard.

They had an event for Signature?  I’ve never been invited to anything on Anthem.

Do you have a copy of the new certificate offers you could post?

Thanks 🙂

Question — what happens if one uses a casino certificate to book a cruise and then one person in cabin can’t go ?  Anyone have any experience?

You may also change the name of the 2nd passenger until 3 days prior to sailing at no extra cost

New certificates are out this week. Cruises go to December 2019. 3 Anthem cruises on the inside certificate.  I already had two of them booked.

How did you get a copy?  We were on Allure 2 weeks ago and it is the old one.

I’m on the ship now. They just got them today.

Can you screen shoot and post?  TIA. Will they let those who cruised the 14 through the 21st use them?

Well we were on the Allure two weeks ago and we are just out of luck on the new certificates.  They are not letting anyone use the new certs but only the old ones that end in March.  Already have bookings through March.  $1000 doesn’t go very far on royal cruises.  Not happy.

Why would they let you use something that wasn’t even out yet?  That’s why I didn’t gamble much on my last few cruises. I was saving my gambling money for when the new certificates were out.  I have all my bookings up through April 2020. 2 of my booked sailings are on the new certificates so as I earn the points I’ll just use the certificate.

The next cruisers get the new one?  I’ve been home one week.  The host said to call to see if the new ones are out yet.  Guess she needs to be informed that even if they are you can’t use them. Still don’t think it is right.

FYI — in the past we have used the new list when redeeming certificates from a recent cruise.  We just called the casino number, talked to a rep, and no problem.  As always with Royal, it seems as though when you call and to whom you speak, determines the answer you get.  Katherine

The man I talked to kept me on hold for about 3 minutes.  Presumably he went to ask about rolling over the certificates.  Came back and he said they said no.

I got a snail mail offer in the mail yesterday from CR.  It had about 50 sailings for a complimentary room.  There were 3-5 night sailings for a balcony, 3-7 nights for oceanview and 3-9 nights for inside.  You have to book by 11-16 and sail by 2 June 2019.  There were cruises starting next week all the way through the middle of June 2019.  I don't know what would happen if you chose one of the few cruises that leave between 2-14 June.  I can't imagine they wouldn't permit you to book using this offer since they are included in the list.  ...but who knows...this IS CR after all !

When I called I asked specifically if this had anything to do with our annual free cruise and he said it did not; that these are "monthly" offers.  I was somewhat surprised as I do not get anything like this monthly and my husband (who is also Prime) didn't get this one at all - at least, he hasn't so far.  I find these snail mail offers to be very random but this one was particularly good, IMO b/c it covered a lot of options over a nice period of time (covered 7 months) and it was for a "free" cruise vs some worthless offer of $500 or $750 off the price.

We chose a 7 night sailing on Freedom out of SJU (4-28-19) which we upgraded from an inside to an Owner's Suite for a reasonable (to us) up charge. I went ahead and booked Air2Sea air which I normally do NOT do but the last time we tried to go to SJU (Christmas 17) the airfare was so outrageous that we ended up cancelling the whole trip.  I just wanted to get it all booked and over with.

Would you mind tell what you paid for that upgrade? I'm just trying to get an idea if we should do similar!

Thanks!

The upgrade itself was $2698 so the total bill was $3035.84 which included $203 for grats (we always prepay) and $134.84 for T/PC.  I was surprised that they only charged us "regular" grats ($14.50 PP/PD) instead of suites grats but he double checked and I didn't argue.  I think that's a reasonable price to pay for a 4+ level cabin upgrade although I will say that we've gotten better deals than that in the past.  We got 1648, which is next door to the Royal Suite.  We stayed in that same suite on Liberty last month and REALLY liked it.  Nearly all of the OS are still available...at least, they were as of 2 hours ago.

Oh....something else. The offer had a new phone number listed at the bottom that I had never seen before.  866-213-3116.  The recording that I got before someone answered mentioned "prime" membership so I am guessing that this is the Prime line.  Powerful sense of deduction on that one...  🙂

There must be multiple levels in Prime.  Laura never gets free offers, email or snail mail

John, I wish I understood the way this program works.  The advice that I will offer is....have Laura call the Prime number (866-213-3116) and ask them what offers they show for her.  I am always surprised that there are offers about which I knew NOTHING.  This program does the WORST job ever of advertising their offers to their members of any loyalty program EVER.  She may be surprised to find some offers that she doesn't even know about !

BTW, the offer that I got in the mail yesterday is "808" so it won't hurt to mention that to them when she calls.

Good luck !

I just checked my offers at clubroyaleoffers.com and don't see anything like that, and I am Prime also.

I will make the same recommendation to you that I made to John.  Call the Prime line and see if they have the "808" offer for you.  My husband, who is also Prime, did NOT get the same snail mail that I got yet a few weeks back he got a snail mail offer that I never got.  So I think they just pick people at random.  Who knows what the process is.

I was also somewhat distressed, when I called to book this one, that they said they had 2 CR accounts for me b/c he could not find this offer for me either, at first.  That is a BIG RED FLAG.  He told me that he got it all straightened out but I wonder....

I just had an interesting call on that Prime #. So I had been told previously by Club Royale that as a Canadian with a Canadian address, I qualified for offers but they could no longer mail or email them to me.  Now I am being told that no one with an address outside of the US qualifies for any offers aside from whatever certificates you qualify for onboard and the free annual cruise.  She said it was because of Canadian laws. Sorry but that is not fair and appears be BS as I get offers from land based casinos and other cruise line casinos.  I will be emailing up the food chain.

Just out of curiosity can you both try and log in and see if the same items show up?

I'll offer perhaps what is a little insight solely based on land-based casino tiers. I've talked about this in great detail before but I'll touch a little on ADT. This is what you are really worth to the casino, its you Average Daily (or trip) Theoretical loss.

Here is my understanding...lets say (for arguments sake) that Tier 1 is 0-1000 pts, Tier 2 is 1001-5000 pts, T3 is 5001-10000, etc...

Tiers are only used as a guideline to put you within a large group for common benefits, ie: Tier 1 you get a free inside cruise, Tier 2 you get a free Balcony, Tier 3 Suite, and so on...

Now, lets break down the tiers...We have a certain group of people who are tier 2 because they are earned 1001 points on their last cruise and others who are also classified as "Tier 2", who earned 5000 points.

Loosely speaking, the person who is more valuable to the casino would get better (or more frequent) offers, cause they have a history of higher play (potential to loose more, lol).

In my situation, both my wife and I are prime members, she has not received ANY offers to date (via email/snail mail or otherwise, except for her prime free cruise), I am also prime, my inbox is consistently dinging with offers for free cruises with Jr. Suites, Balconies etc..I also know that I cycle through a LOT more than my wife at the casino (Higher ADT), so these offers are not coincidence! In short, you current "level" has nothing to do with your offers!

Hopes this helps a little!

Cheers....Brian

I can usually see her Casino carts and some other invites at the offers page.  Never the list of cruises.  Will call later in week

On that page I see all of the offers i receive in the mail (baseball, football, grape and games) and the one free one I get for being prime. The cruise certs don't show up in mine.
