Radiance class Deck 7 Balconies

Recommended Posts

Balcony for cabin 1062 is marked by up arrow but the other two OS balconies to its right that are shown better in this shot are the same except 1062 has more of an overhang from the pool deck above it.

Of course OS 1064 in the middle is a mirror of the other two.

Got a balcony gty, was assigned 7566. Any thoughts or info on this cabin folks? [emoji924][emoji227][emoji898]

Not connecting, mid-ship location, passenger deck above. Only concern would be casino below, but I've not heard much negative about that.

Balcony Guarantee landed us in 9608.. best I can tell is mid ship close to stairs but not too close. Can't tell if will be looking down on lifeboats or not any thoughts would be much appreciated:)

Here's the view from the balcony of stateroom 1566 which is on deck 10 almost directly above cabin 9608.

Deck 9 and 10 on Radiance class ships in the rear 3/4 or rearwards of the front jump section are out further as this section contains the longer suites and Cat. D balconies so the downward view is less obstructed by the lifeboat canopy than decks 7 and 8 balconies are. You can see the difference in the hump section in the first shot.

Just off Brilliance, cabin 7566. While it was nice having the balcony, we would not book this type cabin, white canopy, blocking direct view with the sea. This was a first balcony gty, so this is what we got. As we were one of the Empress cancelled cruises, we were happy to find a cruise other than the Majesty, with a balcony. Just our opinion.

IMO 7020-7034 are fine... deeper balcony and far enough forward so there is no lifeboat cover issue. Just a heads up, on these balconies, you will be able to see passengers above while you are at your balcony rail. 7082, 7086, 7120-7124 are in lifeboat cover country and would not choose those if there were a choice. Not sure about 7152... I think you will have quite a bit of lifeboat cover to deal with, but 7158 is fine since it is aft of the lifeboat cover.

Balconies for cabin 7152, 7158 and 7160 on Radiance class rear jump out section overlook, thus are obstructed by the roof of lounges on deck 6 below as show in the shot below which shows the view from the balcony for cabin 7676 on the starboard side which is similar to the rear port side balconies which is shown in the second shot.

Cabin 7152 balcony view is actually obstructed by both the lounges roof and the rear end tender/lifeboat cover as its balcony is only extender out for half its width.

Bob, perhaps they should create a completely new category of Certified Balconologist, Radiance class ship:D. I realized that there was some set back from the edge on those aft cabins, but my pics don't show it as well as the ones you provided.

Sorry to bump this thread up, but I have 2 rooms- 7024,7022. Are they good balconies, and is there any chance we can get rid of that small divider and move back and forth between them?

Those cabins have the extended balconies without lifeboat covers. I don't believe the divider can be removed.

We will be in 7108 and 7110 on Radiance in Alaska this summer. 7108 is just aft of the main centrum elevators, thus the balcony is deeper and kinda wedge shaped. 7110 is an accessible room, so the balcony is longer from left to right. At least that's what I've seen on deck plans and from online photos I've found. Looking straight down and seeing lifeboat covers might seem a little odd, but I'll be more interested in the total view and not what is directly next to the ship. I'll let the Captain worry about that part. ;-)

How'd we do with our cabin locations, Bob?

The little half divider next to the rail opens. You can just walk next door. Our room steward came over that way. :D

Hello. My 2 grandsons and I are going on Brilliance of the Sea in May. We have state room 1708. Can you tell me what it is like? It has an “obstructed” balcony. Also seems close to elevators. Is that a problem with noise? Thanks for any assistance.

Are you sure of the cabin number?  I don’t see that cabin number.  What deck?  The number you mention would indicate deck 10 but no cabins with that number.

Deck 7. No noise from the elevators. They are in a separate lobby. And the obstruction is from the lifeboat covers, which only means you can look out at everything, but not straight down to the water. ☺️

I am so sorry, I got the room number wrong. It is 7108. This is on the 7th deck. Wondering about noise from elevators and what the view is like from the balcony as it is “obstructed”

We had a similar cabin on the Radiance many, many years ago and it was noisy as people would get off the elevators and stop and talk. Also music would come up from the centrum.  Since then they have installed a door at the entrance to corridor to the cabins which lessens the noise.  Enjoy your trip.
