Majesty to get Upgraded

Recommended Posts

I just talked to a board member at PC and there not happy that the Majesty is coming to PC .He said they wished they would put it some place else. He said they are talking to other cruise lines to come to PC. They are disappointed with RCCL with ther plans.

Who/what exactly is "a board member at PC' that you spoke to?

Makes no sense. What are they doing with RH passengers who booked a JS initially? MJ only has 50 JS total, and RH has 66:eek:

I doubt every single JS is booked on any given MJ..and not everyone on any RH had all the JSs booked............

Has anyone who was booked on the RH in a JS NOT been given a JS on the MJ??

Then there you go. Sabor at deli, chef's table in private Dining room, izumi and DL/CL combo in VCL. Water slide at rock wall. That wasn't so hard

Sorry, but you need a lot more space than a vertical rock climbing wall can give them to install a waterslide.

Sovereign class was the World's largest and nearly as large as a small country. Trident is a ballistic missile submarine so that could then be the case ;)

Trident is the actual missile. Developed at cape Canaveral I am told

I don't see why they would be obligated to notify anyone, it's not like the voyage is cancelled. On the other hand, it might be wise to monitor prices on your own. If many cancel due their dissatisfaction with it not being an event, prices could drop. Personally, I don't get the I want to be last one on the ship mentality, but asm always YMMV

I did not mean in my previous post they would notify people who were on those last two cruises for MJ out of Miami, just the people on the first cruise on RH sailing out of PC.

From what people had said, who went on other 'truly last cruises' it was great fun...in some ways and sad in others.

Rhapsody would have been a drop in passenger capacity from Enchantment.

Now that I would believe the PC Board wasn't too happy about.

By the way, FWIW the redeployment desk person I spoke to said that Johnny Rockets will be staying on MJ, and that in fact no existing restaurants will be removed during the dry dock. Hope that means the conference rooms are what's becoming the new restaurants. They are pretty much wasted space most of the time anyway.

Are you kidding?? Pinnacles flocked to the MN,then EN,out of PC(just not during the summer).......they will flock..:p:p

I was on in April over Easter. Total pinnacle was zero. Top cruiser had 400 points. Only 3 on Freedom two weeks ago.

All the press so far just says "Bahamas" and "Coco Cay". No mention of Nassau? Any chance they are turning Majesty into a cheap beach/casino trip with nothing else?

If they do, I would definitely not go anywhere near that one on spring break.

Isn't she flagged in Nassau? Either way, Nassau is one of my all-time most hated ports. The only benefit to going there is the ship is empty and all to myself!

Pinnacles normally do not cruise summer or holidays.....

Plus most went to Brilliance this past winter............But when BR is not here, they will go to the ship at PC.

Agreed. We treat Nassau as a very slow moving sea day. :D

In the recent past when we have stopped at Nassau we don't get off for more than a stroll on land...but our next stop there we are planning to go to the Pirate Museum. So for us there is one more thing we can do there.

The first PC cruise was a 4 day leaving on Thursday. Doesn't exist with Majesty

I did say "if.";)

What's a good JS on Her Majesty

On Monarch, which I assume is identical on Deck 10, I liked the aft three on either side - 1x84, 86 and 88. All of the balconies are fully covered, but those three don't have the extra overhang, so the cabins are a bit brighter. I also like the location close to the aft staircase and elevators, which don't seem to be as heavily used as the Centrum elevators.

Has anyone who was booked on the RH in a JS NOT been given a JS on the MJ??

Even if that were true, it still does not account for the 80+ balcony cabins on RH that also need to be rebooked. 150+ cabins with a veranda cannot be accommodated on as ship that only has 56 - Unless you start stacking passengers three deep:eek:

Even if only 70% of the JS on RH were already booked, then they'd still fill 48 of the 50 available JS on MJ. If 70% of the D1 and D2 balconies were also booked, then you'd have ~60 bookings competing for two cabins. The math simply does not work. Someone is getting Royally (you know what)

RCCL just called regarding a second RH I had.........But I did ask, which is the corresponding cruise for the four night Thursday to Monday RH Nov 10th?? Said the 3 night,Nov 11th...I personally, think it should be either that or the M-F MJ,since some booked the RH for a 4 night cruise, while others booked it for a weekend cruise.

Oh well,......

Not worried about it....out of my group, only 3 booked balconies.and for the most part, they are not even interested in going on MJ...........May just do BR..........same dates...

I just love RCL's consistency- I called earlier and was told that I could change to the 4 day on 11/14/16 and be price protected on that sailing;)

I'm just torn on the whole topic.

On one hand I'm glad PC has a summer Bahamas ship back, but on the other hand, I can't imagine going on Majesty again. It felt so dated even five years ago when we last sailed on her, the cabins are tiny, the ceilings are low, no solarium, AstroTurf on the deck above the pool deck, ugh.

It's just disappointing after growing to love the Enchantment :(. Also ironic how Carnival is moving the newer Victory to Port Canaveral for the short cruises and Royal Caribbean is simultaneously moving the old Majesty to replace Enchantment.

I don't know what we will do with our 3 night Rhapsody booking. We haven't gotten a call yet, but I have no desire to sail on the Majesty and also don't want to have to fly to Miami for a 3 day cruise on a decent ship.

3/4 night cruises typically don't sell early. The vast majority of cabins are sold in the last couple of months. I'd be surprised if they were even at a 25% sold rate on even the most booked Rhapsody cruise.

Is it just me or does adding "Chefs Table" seem a bit out of place. I would have thought that the casual/party atmosphere on these short cruises would have lent itself to more casual dining such as Sabor and Izumi. Perhaps it is because they can find the space to be able to squeeze in chefs table but not a Giovanni's.

Historically, the 3-night weekend cruise is more like a Carnival trip involving more youth & partying. The 4-night (mid-week) has typically a more laid back crowd. There are always exceptions, but that's been my experience.

I agree with your point about Chef's table, not sure it would be enjoyed on the 3-nighters. The 4-night? Maybe

This is exactly what I was going to post. Plus, they're probably taking into account the fact that some people will just cancel because they have no desire to sail on the Majesty.

Trident is the actual missile. Developed at cape Canaveral I am told

It was tested at Port Canaveral, but was not developed in the area. The Trident I (C-4) missile was developed at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale California.

The last basin on the left as you're leaving Port Canaveral is the Trident Turning Basin and is used by U.S. Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile submarine forces. It was built in the mid 70's to support the testing of the Trident missiles in the Atlantic ranges.

Just a little bit of an aside... :p

Maybe they're trying to add some more upscale venues to attract a more ...don't want to offend anyone here... upscale crowd.

I will be one of the 'all specialty' diners on this new offering, whether on a 3 or 4 night sailing.

They have seemed to announce a new form of Chef's Table for Majesty in their press release.

Chef’s Table, an exclusive experience hosted by the Executive Chef and Sommelier for an intimate wine pairing dinner.

If this is the case, this will be an event more like what Princess offer than the -

I]"A once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience – join up to 14 guests in an exclusive enclave to savour a five-course, gourmet menu"[/i] offered by RCI on other ships.

This could be offered in a designated galley space, if that is even possible on Majesty.
