Hello everyone....we will be arriving in FLL around 11pm. We are looking for a place that would be close to the port so the newbies with us can see the ships in the morning, will want a couple of cocktails and either a late dinner or appetizers when we arrive, and possible a shuttle to port in the morning. Right now there are 6 in our group and possible 2 more.

What are your thoughts for possible hotels...and we would like to keep it under $250 per room...THANKS!!!!

Thanks....I wasn't sure if you could see the port from 17th street.

Last year when we were driving around before cruise we said we would remember all the places that we would like to stay...yep...no one remembers...lol

You can see the port from certain rooms in the Hilton Marina, the Hyatt Pier 66, the Renaissance (I think), and the Embassy Suites. Of course you usually need to pay extra for the view. Just search those hotels here and you'll see specific room location recommendations.

Without a date, no one can guarantee a rate for you. Season rates vary.

If you are looking at hotels close enough to see the ships, there will be no free shuttles to the pier. Catch two cabs for under $15 each.

If you want to see the ships in the morning, and staying in non port view rooms, just step out the door and walk to the bridge.;) Can't miss them.

Maybe google the hours of some of the restaurants near the hotel you choose. Arriving that late will be a problem for a full dinner. But there are bars open with appetizers/light meal.

If you are looking for a room for February 13th, occupancy is already tight so I would book something ASAP. The Embassy has rooms where you can see the ships but it may be a little over your budget.

As far as having a cocktail and food, Duffy's serves until late, I think they are open until 2am on weekends but call and ask. Their food is excellent!

The 17th Street area closes pretty early.

You could always hop in a cab (very short ride) over to Las Olas because there are a lot of restaurants that stay open a lot later. There is also a very beautiful hotel, The Riverside Hotel that is on the New River that is in the middle of everything on Las Olas.

Cheesecake Factory serves until 12:30am and Tilted Kilt serves until 4am. Big City Tavern and Louie Bossi all serve until about 1am. Over in Himmarshee Village, The Public House serves until 2am.

Plenty of bars in HV and it is really beautiful.
