Curtis Stone restaurant is called 'SHARE'

My first cruise on Sun Princess is early next year.

If I understand correctly, Share, which is a specialty restaurant with a surcharge, will replace the pizzeria, which is not?

I'm kind of disappointed that my complimentary dining options are being reduced in favour of a third specialty restaurant. Also miffed at the loss of pizza as a quick and easy meal option, especially for my children on the nights we'll want to feed them quickly and send them back to kids' club so we can have some grown up time.

I expect the pizza will still be somewhere, maybe the buffet.

Yes, SHARE replaces the free pizzeria restaurant on the Sun.

If Verdi's on the Sun is anything like Cafe Corniche on Sea Princess I would be very peeved be booked on that ship and have it go away in favor of a venue where you have to pay. We loved Cafe Corniche on Sea Princess.

We don't care for the Prego's pizza but loved the pizza at Alfredo's on Grand and Cafe Corniche on Sea.

Thanks for this menu! Nice of you! :)

Does the menu change daily?

I'm not sure, this was from an event in Los Angeles with some media. I don't think anything else menu wise has been announced, but I'm assuming you'll see most, if not all, of that menu from Facebook.

Hi Dorothy! Interesting question. Not sure if they will do this when underway or in a dry/wet dock. :)

Both Ruby and Emerald have drydocks scheduled in December, I would imagine that's when the updates will happen.

Thanks for your help. Hopefully drydock is when the makeover occurs. :)

Hi Dorothy...based on this other thread & the Princess press release, the Coral would have Sabatini's converted to SHARE during her January drydock to be ready for late January 2016.

I am particularly interested in when the makeover occurs on The Emerald as we are sailing on her in November. We were worried they may start working on it while we are on the cruise. Hopefully, they will wait until December during the scheduled drydock. :)

Thanks for your reply.

It wouldn't surprise me if they try a few different pricing tests before determining final fleet wide pricing.

I read a question on the Princess Facebook site about the cost but they didn't give a price only stating that "there will be a nominal cover charge for SHARE much like with our other specialty dining options".

It seems odd to put out a press release without knowing what it will cost?

Dorothy, we were on Grand Princess the sailing before drydock. Nothing was started that we noticed; however, there were some things going on.

We were chatting with a group in a bar at a port stop who were on the ship to do QUITE things at night.

If we hadn't met them, we would have never known ... so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Look forward to having a wonderful cruise on Emerald! :)

I remember the Painted Desert & for $5 it included a margarita. :D

We dined there on the Grand & Star which is now the Crown Grill. The Golden also had it in the same location before the overhaul moved the casino to where the Painted Desert was originally located. The original casino location is where they built the Crown Grill and the WS cabins.

I believe the food was described as Santa Fe style even though it was Mexican food. ;)

YES! That's it, thank you! I was wracking my brain.

Do you suppose this restaurant will suck up Adagio, too, on the ships that currently have it?

I agree with ColoCruiser, I certainly hope they don't do away with Adagio, though I am a little concerned because it is always so lightly populated up there (one of the reasons we like it so much). I would imagine, however, that even if they needed to add some space to the new restaurant, they would retain at least some of the Adagio bar space. They will need a bar to serve the restaurant in any event, and a place for people to wait for their reservation, etc. At least I hope they'll think of it in that way, as well. ;)

We discovered Adagio when we sailed on Crown Princess. It was a wonderful venue. We returned in the evening for some great jazz from the Princess musicians. They formed their own jazz band and it was a great evening. (Not real heavily attended but those who were there really appreciated it.)

And then somebody yelled, "Pass the potatoes!" LOL. I will be all kinds of ticked if they mess with Adagios.

Yes it does appear that the Sabatini venue will undergo a physical change as well as a concept change. Does anyone know how long the renovation will take and if any sailings of the designated ships will be affected by construction?

Hi Dorothy, how are you and Joe?? I'm sure you miss Gail as much as we do. What cruises do you have planned, we've finally gotten our life back together after the move and John's Dad's passing and have 4 cruises booked. I'm out of FCC's and even had to book the Royal without them, hoping when we get on the Caribbean Princess and can make an adjustment. Let me know how you're doing.

Another vote for the Cafe Corniche on the Sea.

And we try to avoid other's germs on the ships - now this encourages sharing and passing from hand to hand. I'm not so sure about this.

As opposed to the most touched item on a ship, the buffet serving spoon.

Seems a little germ phobic to me

LOL. You might feel differently after you catch noro! Is the buffet serving spoon really the most touched item on a ship? Hmm. I'm going to have to think about that one.

It's a drawing, not a photograph and if you look at the first drawing, the open windows on the side show the sea so it IS supposed to be a representation of what they plan to build. Plus the circular entrance DOES look a little like Sabatinis on the Emerald.

Count me in the NOT impressed group.

We also go to Specialty restaurants for romantic meals NOT for communal dining.

I certainly hope corporate will rethink this one before implementation.

And to those that said EVERYTHING is greeted with negativity on CC - I can't remember reading a single negative comment on the rollout of the Norman Love chocoalte desserts, etc.

(Which have lived up to all the hype. :D )

There have been many negative reviews that the desserts are "samey". They tasted pretty good to me.

To me it sounds more like the Chinese meal concept where you order various meals and share them. You can be a party of two or six or ten.

I am amazed at so much negativity before anyone even understands the concept!

I had the same thoughts. I welcome change and differences especially around the Princess fleet to try something new. Not just the same cookie cutter "steak place" or "Italian" place on every ship. From some of the belly aching for something that has not even been tried or open seems to me like maybe it's time to check into Holland America. This concept I'm sure is to keep up with new concept restaurants and attract a younger demographic which Princess has to do to survive. I say bring on change and variety between ships!

It's kind of weird that, I'm guessing, most people here will eat in the buffet with no problem, but won't pass a dish amongst 8-10 people. The life-threatening allergies I can understand.

I must be the only one but was not impressed with Norman Love chocolate desserts. Far better chocolate out there IMHO.

Everyone has their own opinion about menus and that is as it should be.

Now if Princess wanted to please just me-----they would have a Bayou Café on every ship and they would put crème brule' and wild berry cobbler back on the desert menu. In addition, they would get a Texan to teach the chef on the Royal Princess Horizon Court Bistro how to make taco meat.
