When one books a "cabin guarantee" how soon before departure are you made aware of your cabin?

As late as the day you board the ship! The porters will have a list to tell them what cabin # to put on your luggage.

But normally you will receive notice before that.

As early as when final payment is made and as late as when you arrive at the pier. (Or any time in between).

Anytime from now until you arrive at the port.

It can be as little notice as the day you arrive to the port.

It depends on the cruise line. Some let you know weeks away from sailing, others let you know as late as arrival at the pier. Just no way to tell.
