Does anyone know if the doors on Emerald Princess are magnetic? I thought all ships have magnetic doors and walls but someone told me there are some ships that have non magnetic doors. I want to bring magnets but I won't bother if I can't use them. Thanks

They are not magnetic they are metal. Magnets will stick. Interior walls too.

Or erasing door keys.

Ah, that's the problem........

Passenger: "My door key keeps getting its magnetic strip erased."

Service desk personnel: "We advise that you keep your door key away from the door."

The door is NOT magnetic ... something else was what the card contacted.

There are sneaky little tiny magnets in many things.

If you are referring to my post to Colo Cruiser, yeah that was a joke....I thought that the  would have given it away. If not, then, yeah, that is true....

However, if you put your door key near one of the magnets you put on the door, then.......

Per above, because the doors/walls are metal, magnets will stick to them.

 Keep your "cruise card" away from anything magnetic!

THANK YOU! For alerting me to that possibility, I didn't think of it myself. So I'd better get myself an RFID blocking wallet to keep my cards in, and keep it in my walker basket, the "Cruise Card" and lanyard can be tucked inside the wallet for safety. My local Motoring Organisation Office and Shop Outlet has them, and I need to get a 2 prong US/AUS adaptor plug, and a First Aid Kit, oh and 2-packs of RFID cards to protect bank cards from scammers.

Priority-wise, I think:

-2 packs of RFID cards (to get me used to using them automatically)

-Adaptor plug

-First Aid Kit

-RFID Wallet to hold all Cruise paperwork.

Learned about the dangers of magnets and door keys after buying some cool magnetic jewelry on some island. Had fun playing with it all the way back to the ship. Then couldn't get into my cabin!

Love the stuff but now it hangs over my mirror far from anything that could get wiped clean!
