briehon Posted October 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Sailing Oasis Saturday! I know there are a lot of people on this ship but where or when are the quietest times/locations? Specifically, where are the quietest outdoor deck areas and when is the quietest time in the hot tubs? I don't expect deserted but quieter than most areas/times is what I am looking for. I'm looking for relaxation areas (outside of my room!) and nightclubs/bars.
cb at sea Posted October 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Hot Tubs will be quietest around dinner time.... The other areas...you just have to wander and find your spot...what's quiet this week, might not be next week!

When we were on the Oasis, this past August the hot tubs were a hot item..............my oh my, they always seemed to be busy, even during the evening dinner hours, young adults to older folks (like me). Maybe because they were busy at other times also and this was the only time for some folks. Sea Ya Edited October 18, 2015 by Lionesss

Yes I agree, you can sit, watch the sea, and fall asleep, and the walkers and joggers really do not bother you. We also relaxed there after losing our $ in casino, when to early to go back to cabin. I'm looking for relaxation areas (outside of my room!) and nightclubs/bars. From what we saw, the quietest times in the hot tubs were late - 11:00 PM or later. The pool deck staff try to keep one cantilevered tub open and one or two of the pool area tubs open.
mmn531 Posted October 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2015 There are always the 'secret' balconies on the 11th and I think 10th deck. (AFT) During the water shows they are busy but otherwise are usually abandoned. To go along with another poster, AFT on the running track at night is the BEST. Quiet is relative with the noise from propulsion but after about 2 mins it is white noise and you can just relax !! And yes I have fallen asleep in those chairs a few times. Hot tubs, for both Oasis and Allure it was hit or miss. But there are enough there that you can find room and not be too cramped. Happy Sailing!! zteamtwo Posted October 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Briehon--You must be in a Grand Suite or above to use Deck 17. Junior Suite will not get you there. Sometimes the hot tubs are not busy on port days.

They have little cabanas set up and a bar. We stayed up there almost the entire week with our friends last week and it was a blast

The Grumpus Posted October 19, 2015 #14 Share Posted October 19, 2015 During our B2B on Oasis a few years back, we enjoy sitting outside at the aquatheater one night and watching a movie on the big screens they have back there. Not many people attend so it feels like you're getting away from it all for a little while. We watched Grease and many who watched sang along to the music. One of our favorite things we've done on a cruise ship. Sounds silly, but it was fun singing along.

I'm looking for relaxation areas (outside of my room!) and nightclubs/bars. Not sure if this is still true, but around 10:30 on Formal Night my wife and I took a walk in Central Park. They had the Cello/violin duo playing some beautiful classical music. We had an after dinner drink and sat listening to the music in the beautifully lit Park. Only a few couples strolling around. Really a nice place to go later in the evening.

Sky616 Posted October 19, 2015 #18 Share Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Another great and quiet spot is I believe on deck 14 on the port side in the front. Maybe somebody, possibly Bob can tell you for sure which deck. But anyways you have to go in the hallway on the port side all the way to the front and there will be a door that takes you outside. Not many people knew about it when we were on last year. My 6 year old and I would go out there a few times after I picked him up from Adventure Ocean. Great spot. I think that's accessible from port or starboard - I definitely know port is accessible though! Yes, it leads to a little overlook just under the solarium. It does get a little packed during sailaways though, especially since it offers a little glimpse into the bridge wings.
Rare BillOh Posted October 19, 2015 #20 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Deck 5 aft on the track is a great quiet place to sit and read. My favorite spot on the ship. Just be careful stepping out onto the track. :D Bit of a blind spot and when walking back inside, go with the flow, not against it.

We did that as well, We happened to ask the bartender if popcorn was available and it was. Didn't know it. Later the Captain walked by and said hello. It was a pleasant evening.
