Rare chefestelle Posted December 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2015 How exciting! 10 days til cruise time! I received a call from corporate today to see if I had any questions. She was a very nice young lady. DD has already packed her casual clothes. We are also packing glittery dresses because even if regular cruises don't go formal, I'm sure people will sparkle up for Christmas. I can't wait! Rare chefestelle Posted December 11, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted December 11, 2015 And I finally carved out some time to call Delta and United for refunds for my comfort seats on the flights that were cancelled. I've had such a song and dance with the online refund requests and calling the numbers on the sites that I gave up for a while. Today I accidentally clicked on the link to Flight Hub. They had the correct numbers for me to call and not even half an hour later the refunds were confirmed! Yay! It's all tinsel and jingle bells from here! Rare chefestelle Posted December 13, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted December 13, 2015 I picked up all my tip denominations yesterday! Today I'm shovelling, tomorrow I'm packing. Seven more sleeps til we fly off to San Diego!
Rare chefestelle Posted December 16, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted December 16, 2015 All packed. Still shovelling. But only four more sleeps. I have our paper luggage tags printed but how are they going to be affixed to the suitcases so they stay on?
Rare Scrapnana Posted December 16, 2015 #18 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Put them on as you are headed from hotel to pier. The front desk at the hotel will lend you a stapler.
Rare chefestelle Posted December 16, 2015 Author #19 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Great idea! Thanks! Next question: we've arranged through HAL for transfers. How do they announce themselves at the airport? With their logo sign or our name on a sign?
RuthC Posted December 16, 2015 #20 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Next question: we've arranged through HAL for transfers. How do they announce themselves at the airport? With their logo sign or our name on a sign? It could be either method; I've had both. If you are arriving at an airport where there are many others arriving for HAL also, then there will be a representative---usually wearing a red blazer---holding a white clipboard with the HAL logo waiting. The rep will either be in the luggage claim area, or outside Immigration/Customs. Look for that person, who will also be looking for you. You check in with the rep, then frequently sit in a designated area while the rest of the expected passengers check in. Your luggage will be placed on large trolleys. When everyone is there, the group will be escorted to the transfer bus. Generally it doesn't take very long. If there's only a few of you, there may be a sign with your name, and you will be put in a car.

Rare chefestelle Posted December 16, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Thanks very much Ruth. Good to know who I'm looking for! And thanks Copper 10-8. cruz chic Posted December 16, 2015 #24 Share Posted December 16, 2015 All packed. Still shovelling. But only four more sleeps. I have our paper luggage tags printed but how are they going to be affixed to the suitcases so they stay on? In the past I've stapled mine to large cardboard mailing labels that have a hole punched on the side. Then I attach with pipe cleaners. Now I have plastic luggage tag holders that I attach with pipe cleaners. Have a wonderful cruise.
