M Life Experiences?

Recommended Posts

We are planning a trip to Las Vegas in the fall as part of a Grand Canyon tour. MGM is at a moderate price point - about what we'd like to pay per night. Is it worth it to stay there with our RCCL Diamond status? How good are the rewards, really? I'd appreciate any feedback from others who have used the reciprocal status.

I don't believe that M Life has anything to do with C&A. If I'm not mistaken, M Life is allied with the Club Royale Program, no C&A.

I'm pretty sure it's C&A - I'm looking for real experiences:

I'm D+ and got the matching status (Plat I believe) in M-Life in advance of my trip. In Biloxi it's worth it because you get 2 free buffets at the Beau.

In Vegas I didn't stay at any of the MGM hotels because the price was too high compared to others but it was nice to have access to priority lines because of the D+ status. It was funny going to the players club desk and they see the high level then look at my account with this "uh, how the..." face as my point level was WAY lower than my status.

I also found myself playing a bit more at the M-life resorts because of the point multiplier that I got with the elevated status.

To sum it up if the price is right then go for it but don't pay more to just stay at a M-life resort because of the status.

I have not had a Vegas MLife stay since becoming Diamond and have just become MLIFE Platinum on my last cruise.

The benefits at Gold are somewhat limited at Vegas. While the Priority Check in can save minutes, the room upgrades will most likely only be a view upgrade and not a suite upgrade, depending on what you have booked. The buffet line passes can also be convenient.

I had a very good MLife experience at non-Vegas Gold Strike. I was given an upgrade to a suite, I was granted buffet passes, the dining venues had VIP sections in the best areas of each venue and the shops were made affordable with the discount. The Casino hosts even offered to give me 2 rooms or a 1 bedroom suite for my upgrade. Casino hosts were very helpful.

My favorite MLife perk though is actually upgrading my Hyatt Gold Passport where Hyatt now gives me upgrades and free internet and late check-outs.

Sorry, this might be off topic, just a heads up, MGM resorts charge an extra $30-something per night in resort fees. I live here and recently booked a room at New York New York for a concert. The price was amazing for 2 days until I realized I had to tack on an extra $60+. Plus I heard they are starting to charge to park there. I think it's $10? Not sure if that's per day or for the whole stay.

They do have affiliation and I just received a promotional email from Rccl for all the MGM resorts. Prices are fantastic compared to direct or even some of the other promotions plus they come with a resort credit, from $200 at Bellagio and Aria, $150 at MGM, Mandalay, and Mirage, $100 at NYNY and Monte Carlo. And you get those resort credits with a 2 night stay.

Yes all MGM resorts do have resort fees but most all resorts in Vegas do. I think the ones that don't are Harrahs brand casinos but their room rates are much higher too.

My Diamond status converts to M-Life Gold which gets you a minimum of 20% off room rates. We live in San Diego so Vegas is a quick getaway for us and love having this benefit.

Harrahs Entertainment changed their name to Caesars Entertainment quite a few years ago. They used to not charge resort fees but changed that policy a few years ago and they do charge resort fees now.High level gamblers (Diamond and 7 Stars) are not charged resort fees.

The biggest benefit I've seen is that you get to go to the front of the buffet at any affiliated policy. We get comped hotel at Caesars so I haven't checked the room discounts.

We're diamond with RCI and get absolutely no benefits on cruises. Should I be getting something?

I've read that if you use your Diamond benefits (like balcony discount), you don't get the reciprocal M-Life benefits. It's more useful fro M-Life members with no C&A status.

Is this deal something I can access?

This seemed to be true for us.

We are MLife Platinum members (we enjoy Vegas) and the first time we cruised with RCCL we stopped in the Casino and met with the host. We were given 2 specialty dinners, one for each platinum member. We also get one free cruise per year, or $750 credit toward a cruise. Other than room discounts I don't think the C&A benefits at MGM are nearly as generous. Maybe I'll know more if I ever get to Diamond status! :)

Once you get your m-life status, e.g., platinum for D+, you can go to the mlife website and sign in with your number. After signing, you should have their offers, mostly discounted rates for Las Vegas hotels, on the front page.

If you can't click on above, just copy and paste.

Thanks, I had not seen the combined MLife and C&A grid before.
