Our's too...I got antsy & submitted it on the final payment due date. ;)
Called today and my sister's OBC was applied but not mine. I faxed both at the same time. I was told mine wasn't received but that's impossible. I printed a copy of the fax confirmation that all pages were sent and received and mailed in the request. I'll see whether that works.

Whenever I've called them about a problem with getting my SOBC credited they've either located my fax (provided phone #, date, time) or had me resend it and both times it was issued within a few minutes while I was on hold...in your situation they were not that efficient. :(

Question. Why not just let the TA handle those things? I email the stuff to Marietta and she takes care of it.

I could but I hate to ask my TA to do something I can do for myself. It wasn't a big deal to set up and send the fax. I'd have to set it up for my TA to start with. It became a big deal when Princess screwed up.

The faxes go into a computer and are not printed out when received.

 

The fax confirmation means that the fax system reported no problem, but a computer glitch can have the fax reported to you as having been received without it actually going into the computer.

 

One time when I faxed the request it turned out that the computer was not functioning at all that day, but everyone that faxed in a request that day was told there was no problem with the transmission.

I book direct with Princess and they have all my shareholding details, so I don't have to send the form. It's much easier this way. I just make a booking and ask them to add it on.:D

 

Hansi - how did you do this ? I am also from the UK and have asked Princess to add my shareholder details to my account but I still have to fax proof to Southampton for each cruise. It usually takes many days for the OBC to show in my personaliser. Interestingly P&O are often quicker and they are in the same building !! Fax machines probably sit next to each other !

Hi Rubynic. We have our own Personal CruisConsultant at Princess and he just adds the shareholders crdit on request. Sometime when there is a long gap between bookings, I have to email him my shareholders account to show proof that I am still holding them, but I never send faxes or fill in forms.

I'm interested in how you do this as well. I know P&O have a register of those who hold their own share certificate and are able to apply the onboard credit with out the need of a copy of the holding. Not sure if Princess has the same?

 

But it sounds as if you use a holding account? As do we. I have a brilliant Cruise Consultant with Princess, back a couple of years when email was accepted for proof, I would email it to him and he dealt with it. Now to fax or post I find it simpler to post directly to Shareholders. It took 10 days to process it this time.

 

So, do you just email the cruise specialist the proof, and then the Shareholders OBC people are happy to take his/her word? That would make it simpler

My shares are held in a nominee account accessible online, and periodically, I email the page showing the proof of my ownership of the shares to my Cruise Consultant, so that when I come to book a cruise, he already has the up to date information, and the credit is applied to my booking.

This is one of the advantages you guys in the UK have over the USA. We have to resubmit our proof of ownership for each cruise. The proof must be dated within 90 days of sailing. However, Princess keeps our military status on file for the military OBC.

May I ask, is the onboard credit given to shareholders over and above any existing onboard credit that you may be given as part of a booking deal which anyone can get?

ALL OBC is combinable from any source. Travel Agent - check, veterans - check, shareholders - check, Princess - check, Future Cruise Deposit - yup. We have had as much as a little over $1000 OBC on a cruise.:D

You could sell your shares at any time but couldn't undo your military service.

I found she was very happy to do this. In fact, she asked if I had stock and volunteered to handle the matter. Sending a fax is not the easiest thing for me. My printer is fax capable but I don't have a land line. You scan and fax. I scan and email. About the same amount of work for both of us. I could mail the forms but then I'd have to look for a stamp. If I really, really did have to send a fax, I'd have to drive somewhere.

 

Princess is so 1990's with this fax machine thing. Time they took a course about email.

The rules are actually the same here, which is why I was interested how Hansi had found a way around this. :)

We recently purchased some CCL stock.. our brokerage acct is online statement only...so help! Do we just print off the online statement and then fax that along with the form? Thanks for any advice.

 

Just print your account statement & fax or mail it along with the form requesting the on board credit.

No need to use a land line or a postage stamp. You can send a free fax over the internet with services such as http://www.email2fax.com/SendFreeFax.php

Princess is so 1990's with this fax machine thing. Time they took a course about email. Princess used to allow it via e-mail, but changed it to fax or snail-mail only a couple of years ago. My guess is that via e-mail could allow a virus to get into their system. That would not occur with fax or snail-mail.
