Is the Hilton Marina the closest hotel to Port Everglades?

Looking for a hotel within easy walking distance (while pulling luggage) to port everglades.

It's very close but the Renaissance is even closer - almost directly across from the port entrance. However, most would not advise walking to the ship. The port is huge and depending on where your ship is docked it could be a long haul.

The only walkable terminal is terminal 2, where Princess docks (although it's no guarantee a specific Princess ship will be at 2 if there are multiple Princess ships in that day). The rest of the terminals are really far south and there aren't continuous sidewalks.

Agree with this. The port is an industrial type area, not conducive to pedestrians. I would only consider walking it it was the normal Princess terminal.

As others have said, terminal 2 (and possibly 4 which isn't used as frequently) is easily accessible on foot from 17th Street down Eisenhower Blvd. The closest hotel is the Renaissance - right at the intersection of 17th and Eisenhower. The Hilton Marina is located at the binoculars icon by the 17th Street Bridge.

I really would not worry about which hotel is closer.

 

I know some people talk about walking into the port but I would never do this

Ever since the renovations, I don't think 4 is as easily accessed as it used to be. There is a fence separating 2 and 4 now and the fence goes down Eisenhower to past the new security checkpoint. I do believe though that 2 can now be accessed from the Hilton by walking under the 17th st bridge, going to the right to the parking lot by the office building next to the convention centre and going over to the parking garage and into terminal 2 from there.

I would examine this image closely before I decided to walk into the port. You can also see the location of the various hotels.

 

Seriously, a taxi will cost less than $20 including tip.

Any particular reason you want to walk? Ft. Lauderdale is hot and humid, and there is no shade whatsoever in the port area. As was already stated, it's a huge industrial port. Nothing like San Diego, for instance, where I walk the 2 blocks from the Hampton Inn to the terminal hauling my bags behind me with non problem.

Staying at the Hilton in Ft. Lauderdale near the port.

Looking for suggestions for a restaurant for breakfast within walking distance of hotel.

Not fond of the buffet option at the hotel, very expensive and theres 10 of us!

Also, if anyone knows of a good dinner option the night prior!
