Topsham Posted April 10, 2016 #228 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Neptune Lounge. Rather dull and dark. Completely enclosed or perhaps one window on one side? Not much sitting area and not a good view on the TV screen. Not much room to sit between the Concierge and the screen. Hate fake wooden deck. Not the luxury you would expect for a Neptune Lounge. Hi Lisa, As they say, "No point in being Neptune Lounge if there is no one there to watch." Have you met a passenger who goes by the name of "Captain Martini"? He has been running a blog and has done some nice photos. He is making his first ever HAL cruise. Best continued sailing! Stephen

SilvertoGold Posted April 10, 2016 #242 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Thanks, Lisa, for the great photos! One question for you since you are a 4 star: with no Explorations Cafe on this ship, is HAL transferring the 50% discount to the Dutch Cafe or? Thanks again and have a great cruise!! One question for you since you are a 4 star: with no Explorations Cafe on this ship, is HAL transferring the 50% discount to the Dutch Cafe or? Thanks again and have a great cruise!! There is an Explorations Cafe on Koningsdam. It's in the same location as the Signature-class ships.

Topsham Posted April 10, 2016 #246 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Super -- THANKS ! :) Tom Good. I admit Captain Martini's photo of Grand Dutch is the best I've yet to seen. I looks more 'in action' and nicer that what it appears. The cabin he is using is nothing special.

DaveOKC Posted April 10, 2016 #249 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Stephen, you are right, not one single window in the Neptune Lounge. You almost miss it walking down the hall. Perhaps HAL wants it that way, to avoid people not in Neptunes trying to get in? It does seem that HAL has addressed this and other concerns (like the limited privacy when discussing things with the concierge) with the new layout. Need to experience it before deciding if I like it or not.

Need to experience it before deciding if I like it or not. Wants it that way, but a shut in box is not where I want to be! Privacy for sure . A screen with toaster and everyone else on the other side is not going to help privacy. Another point. The shelves of the milk, boxes of cereals, plates of food does not to be 'chilled'. Should be. Covered with one of the plastic 'mushrooms'.
