Breaking News - C&A Changes/Enhancements

Recommended Posts

You asked, I answered. No shame in that for me.

I'm also a big proponent of RCI catering to suite guests, even though I am not one. I believe for the money they pay they are entitled to additional benefits and services.

But that doesn't mean anyone can walk up to me and claim the seat I am in. I'd laugh so hard I'd get the tingles. :)

I couldn't agree more.

I am not that crazy, I wouldn't address a issue with no seats to those occupying those seats. I really am not rude. RCCL, for their bottom line, must continue to cater to suite guest. They also must remember their loyal patrons. RCCL must adjust the C&A at times when needed if lounges become overcrowded, not me. Otherwise Suite guest will find another cruise line that does.

On LOS, the patio area off the DL is closed due to installation of the scrubbers - this is the only access point for construction workers. Last word - to be closed until sometime in Jan 2017.

Carla

That makes sense. It was closed off on the opposite side on Freedom. Can't believe

how long that construction is still going on. They are way past scheduled completion

date.

They are on schedule. The new scrubbers are being built and installed while the ship is at sea. The Chief Engineer said that the Liberty of the Seas, come next year, would be the cleanest burning (less emissions) ship in the fleet.

I just disembarked her last weekend.

Hi Rick!! Sorry we keep missing you, hope to cruise with you and the bride

again soon! :)

I was wondering about the Freedom, are they on schedule with the scrubbers?

Bucky talked to one of the engineers one night, and told him it was a 6 month

contract. Perhaps has been longer than that on Freedom I think?

John is more on top of that than I am. John??

People who charter the SeaDream I or II for two weeks ...

If you're willing to pay for privacy, consider chartering the 112-passenger the SeaDream I or SeaDream II. The yachts come with luxury perks – including expertly prepared cuisine – and nearly as many crew as passengers. Full-ship charters in the Caribbean are available for just under $500,000 for a week. You can similarly do other charters of other vessels such as the barges of Belmond Afloat in France – the 12-passenger Belmond Napoleon from $76,100, for a week that includes fine food and wine.

Or if you want to see the world, perhaps Silversea is more your style ...

Silversea cruises is offering a $1.500,000 cruise package for two on the Silver Whisper , taking in 28 countries over a period of 115 days.

Thanks for sharing that. I didn't know why it was closed. We were on the third and fourth post-Drydock weeks. Just thought it was something probably completed by now.

Why are many of the status folks trying to move the Suite guests to another cruise line. Is this snobbish attitude the others speak of in the lounges during FREE drink time?

The more money RCCL gets, the better your benefits for loyalty.. Do you not get it.

Look, all I am asking is that RCCL treat or cater to their Suite guest as would any other cruise line or hotel or business. It has always been this way. Many Suite guest will soon have good status regardless if they become regular travelers. Wouldn't RCCL be wiser to court and cater to those regularly cruising in suites than those regularly cruising in lower tiered cabins. It is the nature of the business.

What it is about this you don't understand? Not trying to be difficult, just trying to have a wonderful cruise, which we always do.

Like I said, we always get a drink package. FREE Drinks does not matter. Also play Casino and get nice discounts on our Suites for playing.

3000+ we might just make it.

Who is trying to move anyone anywhere? Someone, you, asked who spends $1,000,000 on a cruise and I provided you with an answer. If you didn't want your question answered, why did you ask it?

Actually, quite the contrary. I would never spend that much money on a cruise. I too am always looking for a better price. We just rebooked 6 cruises because I just found out I was Casino VIP or Club Royal, whatever they call it. Got about 30% off what we had previously booked. Maybe only this amount since we are booking suites. Now I guess I do have status. Free drinks in Casino. Maybe I should cancel my drink packages and just drink for free in the lounge and casino...... sound familiar .. LOL

BTW, I got the info to call and the number from CC. Worth its weight in GOLD.

Maybe I should feel better for my new status but I don't. Now we can just afford to go on MORE cruises with added discount and status. See, RCCL does win.

Hi All-

I apologize for asking this but this is a long thread and it too time consuming to read back thru all the posts.

Can someone summarize what the current policy is on the Oasis Class ships (particularly the Harmony) for Diamond Plus Happy Hour.

Is there still a Diamond Plus lounge and if so is there still a Happy Hour from 5Pm-8:30 with open bar?

Or has RCCL now implemented just the 3 drink vouchers per evening.

Thanks

-Doug

Sure, lets hash over this LONG RUMOR again about messing with your C&A Status. Nothing but a rumor.... Maybe changes to the lounges..

What does scrubbers have to do with C&A perks and status, lounges and drinking free??

3000+

You must have a short attention span. The discussion veered off to the outdoor portion of the lounges on Freedom class ships. On Liberty they have added an SL with outdoor seating, but closed off the outdoor seating in the DL. Freedom is working on the scrubbers from the other side of the ship.

I was just curious has Indy started a scrubber project and has it impacted the DL

No, you do not get that casino rate for booking a suite. I have gotten the 30% discount on several cruises and haved booked both inside and outside cabins.

My two cents: Royal needs to cater to both suite guests and loyal customers. Both are valuable to the bottom line. Having been retired now for two years, I am convinced that Royal would have a difficult time filling all their cabins, on all their ships, without the folks who travel many times per year. I have been on 15 plus cruises in the past two years with 6 future cruises booked -- and more to come. I have often traveled on off peak times when the ships were not always at capacity. Am I not a valuable customer who deserves a few perks for being loyal? Again -- my opinion -- but Royal needs both types of cruisers and is wise to cater to both. Katherine

Nobody claimed you would spend one million on a cruise. You asked who would and I answered that question. Stop trying to twist the words around.

Glad the discount rate applies across the board. This is another good act of RCCL part to keep their frequent cruisers with their brand. Makes good business sense. Because of the savings we just received from this Casino discount, we are now looking to add a Panama cruise in the future. Only issues is Royal has no ships going that way but her Sister Celebrity does.

Maybe the wife will choose another port of call to go to, maybe a Transatlantic. Savings were significant when you look across the 6 cruises we had book. Only issue we are on waitlist for suite on Serenade 11 night.
