juice boxes for diabetic passengers

Recommended Posts

Thanks - wanted to be sure. Haven't sailed with RCI before;) Carnival was getting pretty strict with bringing beverages onboard the last time we sailed with them:(

I am also planning on doing this. I will likely bring a small case of the little 14g juice boxes. (Sesame character ones). Buying them here is hit or miss so I always stock up when I see them. But I know Publix in FL carry them.

If you have not already. Call RC or email the special needs team and ask for an empty mini fridge and a sharps container.

I've not cruised YET with my T1 but we cruise next summer and I'm already making my lists.

ANYONE can bring juice boxes....knowing in advance it's not 100% juice, but mostly flavored, sugar water!

Stop it. Just stop it.

1. She didn't ask for your nutritional advice.

2. She is the mother of a diabetic; I am quite sure that she checks the label to find the content of everything that she buys.

3. There ARE juice boxes of 100% juice.

If you have Big Lots near you, check there. Ours have been carrying these. We just bought a bunch...

oh my:eek: How quickly the tone can change... Tis true - parents with T1 children are specialists in nutrition & label reading. My husband has been T1 x 45 years and my (not so young daughter) for 13. Label reading is like a second language to us lol. Besides, even if the juice boxes were just sugar and water -THAT IS THE POINT when someone is having a low blood sugar:p

As a T1 myself, I laughed at that post as well. Because, well yeah, the sugar is the whole reason to have them in the first place, otherwise you can just have water.

Apple & Eve. Those are our favorites! Just woke her up and had her drink one.

Don't mind people. T1 is its own world you know nothing about unless you live within it.

Wow, yep just wow.

Actually, from that poster, pretty typical. Lots of posts, but mostly useless and never, ever does cb come back to a thread they have posted on.

Lots of people bring juice boxes onboard, especially those with children. It will not be questioned but contacting special needs is probably a good idea overall.
