We booked a sky suite on the Solstice in January for an Alaska sailing in Sept. 2017, at the time we added the go best package at a cost fo $630, for two.

Received an email the other day offering the go best package for free when you book a suite, I called the Captains Club # and without any problems they adjusted the price and sent me an updated invoice.

Celebrity is very good about making adjustments. I check all of my pending reservations at least weekly as each time a downward adjustment is offered, they adjust. That is one reason why I typically deal directly with Celebrity, or any cruise line directly, as you can change the reservation 24 -7 until the cruise is paid for- Have also upgraded after cruise is paid for if the rate is really great. I have decided the "perks" TA's offer, isn't worth the loss of the freedom to book and rebook at a moments notice.

Enjoy your cruise.

You do understand that a good TA can do all of that also?

For me it's one call or an email and it's taken care of. Why should I set on the phone and deal with an Celebrity customer service person when I don't have to?

To each their own but to me this "control" or "freedom" that people are always talking about by is really the opposite.

I act as my own TA, I read the email offer from Celebrity, and called the Captains club #, I spent 5 mins on the phone saved myself a total of $750.

so how is that for control or freedom?

5 minutes or less :p

I read the email, forwarded it to my Celebrity Vacation Planner, who had already created a list of her Clients who would be entitled to the extra benefits (I just beat her to the punch - LOL), and with "very little effort" had a great package for our Sky Suite with "brilliant" OBC.

I have never been happier! The flexibility and freedom is an amazing feeling.

I agree with you- while some TA's are very responsive- not a 10 PM or on a Sunday- they also take off and sometimes their collegues aren't very responsive. The mission is commission!

Wish we could do it for our Alaska sailing but the cost of suites have skyrocketed since we booked. I'm talking an additional $1000 for 2 in a RS. We have a CS & it has been sold our for months and I understand the price will also be much higher if one becomes available.

We are in a S1 on our upcoming cruise and our TA alerted us to the price drop due to the Go Best promo change. She had everything done before I even knew what the new promo was. I'll not ever act as my own TA when my TA does that great of a job.
