Bella or Fantastica

I don't want "people at the table" :D

Not being able to get a table for two would be a deal breaker for us.

The first day you can meet the Maitre to request a table for two. They do not have that many and not in the best locations.

We selected Fantastica simply because otherwise we would've been stuck above the Black and White Lounge which plays music late into the night. We didn't want to take a chance.

The cost to upgrade from Bella to Fantastica was maybe $80 total for our family of 4. We never used room service, but we did get the free photos on Italian night. Our kids also took advantage of the "upgraded" kids activities which, although nice, they were not a huge deal. Overall I thought that it was worth the price. Just for the better location and free photos.

We've been doing "anytime or my time" dining on other cruise lines ever since they started this, so having no choice but to have assigned dining and sharing a table had me a bit worried. Our family of 4 was assigned to a large table for 8 but our table mates never showed up so we had a big table all to ourselves the entire week. It was nice to spread out specially with small children. We saw the same at various tables around us.

Waking in and out of the MDR I saw several tables for 2, many who always seemed to be empty.

We chose Bella for price, and because I wanted to have a cabin with the tub. Not that we used the tub much, but now I know a lot more about the different balcony cabins on Divina. We had a splendid view over the promenade and of lifeboat 9. But we still had a great view across the top of the boat, and spent more time on our balcony than we usually do. We were over the golden Jazz Bar, not much jazz there. We could hear bass and faint music - no vocals. The game became to figure out what song they were playing. EM

If you want to be guaranteed a table for two, you should go with the Yacht Club. All are private tables unless you request to be with someone else you know.

Fantastica cabins don't have bathtubs?

Here is a list of the Divina balcony cabins (not suites) that have a tub/shower:

8112 8113 8114 8115 8116 8118 8119 8120 8121 8122 8123 8124 8125 8126 8127 8128 8129 8130 8131 8132 8216 8218 8220 8221 8222 8223 8224 8225 8227 8229 8234 8235 8236 8237 8238 8239 8240 8241 8243 8245 9128 9130 9131 9132 9133 9134 9215 9219 9221 9222 9223 9224 9225 9226

Most, but not all, are Bella. They are all doubles, no sleeper couch for 3/4 passenger. EM

Unfortunately, my experience at booking went like this- I requested table for one. Late seating. Was assigned table for 10 early seating. Tried to change. Willing to go early or late / either dining room - just wanted to dine alone. Wasn't happening. In Msc defense, I booked 4 weeks before sailing so maybe those who booked earlier got their requests.

I think if it's truly a deal breaker you are best to go with YC as Bret suggested.
