Langley Cruisers Posted June 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2016 Well, the official answer is "no" but they don't seem to be rejecting small quantities of soda or bottled water. As well, enforcement is sporadic, just so you know.
leaveitallbehind Posted June 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2016 The official RCI answer is no, but many ships permit soda and water to be brought on board. It can be hit or miss.
cb at sea Posted June 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2016 They rarely stop you from bringing non-alcoholic stuff aboard.
texasmcse Posted June 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2016 if you call rc they say no water or soft drinks but there is nothing in the boarding docs or published info that specifically says you cannot bring water or soft drinks. it does make their policy on alcholol beverages clear tho
Royal Caribbean International Posted June 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2016 Hello there. Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines or non-alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use on boarding day or while in port. We hope this info helps! forecruiser Posted June 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2016 2 weeks ago on the Liberty in Galveston, we checked a bag with 3 six packs of sodas, and had to go to security on deck 1 to retrieve the bag. Once they inspected our bag (asked me to open it in their presence) they saw it was soda and allowed us to keep. They just wanted to make sure it was not alcoholic beverages. The security people were very kind about it.

Both qualify as "non-alcoholic beverages " wouldn't you say?

F5Loar Posted May 12, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Sure seems they are wish-washy about policy on yes or no about sodas. Quote from FAQ "Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies,...... " So if security sees a soda bottle and suspects it may contain alcohol they will take them, but does not say what they do if they find soda in them. If you are not suppose to any non-alcoholic containers brought on board why wouldn't they just take anything they see? And seriously, they only serve Coke products. If you are a Pepsi/Mountain Dew addict, you HAVE to bring your own on board. Otherwise you could not survive a week without it. Heaven forbid a Pepsi die-hard be forced to drink a Coke. Just a guess on my part, but I suspect they don't really care about water and soda. However, they do know that during spring break, they get many more attempts at smuggling alcohol, so having the outright ban in their rules makes it easy for them to disallow during that period.
