Question for recent suite guests - free access to Sushi on 5???

We sailed in suite last year and we had free access to Bistro on 5 during port days for lunch since Luminae was closed.

Would we have the same free access to new Sushi on 5 during port days on our upcoming October cruise on Summit?

Celebrity promised 3 times a day Luminae meals but the restaurant will be closed for lunch during the port days. :confused:

It depends on which suite you will be in. In the Signature, Royal, and Penthouse suites you should have unlimited specialty dining in which case you would have access. Sky and Celebrity Suites would not have access. We just sailed in a Royal Suite on the Silhouette and tried Sushi on 5 on the last sea day and were underwhelmed but others seemed to be enjoying it. They accidentally printed a bill before they realized we had unlimited specialty dining so make sure they know as well.

Hopefully what rM3 say is correct, we are sailing for the first time in a Signature next month. However, I was under the impression that the sushi was not covered for the unlimited suite dining.

It depends on which suite you will be in. In the Signature, Royal, and Penthouse suites you should have unlimited specialty dining in which case you would have access. We will sail in Sky Suite.

I am not asking about unlimited specialty dining for senior suite guest.

 

It used to be free access to Bistro during port days for ALL suite guests and I was asking if it would be the same with new Sushi on 5 restaurant.

X promised all 3 meals in Luminae but it closed during port day lunch time...

It is also not free for suite guests during lunch when Luminae is closed. By now there can't be many people left who booked their cruise before the Luminae hours were changed anyway; past time to get over this.

It was included for guests in Royal and Penthouse suites on the 7/1/16 Silhouette sailing. Maybe it is a ship by ship decision but Anca confirmed it before we dined there and our bill was $0.00

We were on the Equinox in April. Bistro on Five was included for all suite guests on port days only. We were in a sky suite.

We were on Reflection in May in a sky suite and Sushi on 5 was NOT included on port days (and we dined there 2 port days). That said, we had so much OBC, we still did not come out of pocket. We really enjoyed our meals there.

I'm one of the ones who booked with Luminae having lunch, and I'm on the Solstice in Royal suite right now. So having a lunch that was advertised would have been nice, but there is no lack of finding food on board. In fact we dinned in the port we were in. Did not stay on the boat in port. And being in Alaska wanted to get sea food. Yum halibut in Juneau was great. Sushi was not included on Solstice no matter what suite you have. Does not matter if you want lunch or dinner. This has been a wonderful cruise.

Only on ships that haven't changed Bistro on 5 to Sushi on 5.

The question is about Sushi on 5 which replaces Bistro on 5. The change fleet wide will be done by mid Oct. Equinox changes over Aug 6. The Bistro on 5 perk for suites on port days was lovely, but sadly, gone on several of the ships now and soon to go on the rest. Glad you enjoyed it on your cruise.:)

There has been some inconsistency across ships. On Summit last month it was included for Royal & Penthouse suites. You may want to ask the pre cruise concierge when they email you; if they say yes you have something in writing in case on board that say otherwise. Seems most ships are including it for top suites, but still some odd reports on a Cruise Critic to the contrary.

It was included on the Summit.

Disappointing though for those who do not like sushi, as the previous Bistro on Five offered a much wider range of selections from which to choose.

I'm not even sure we'll receive the two complimentary dinners in specialist restaurants that were included in suite bookings up to january 2016 as they have since been cancelled. I wouldn't even ask about the former though.

We booked our Celebrity Suite for our 4/2/17 Panama Canal cruise on 12/20/2014 - back when the two complimentary dinners in specialty restaurants WERE included.

 

After it was discontinued I talked to the Captains Club and they told me that they WOULD honor it as it was part of my original booking. I have the person's name and I also have my booked documents that show that I am entitled. I have no fears that the Michael's Concierge will not make sure that they are honored. :)

We've traveled since then and our butler simply asked what night we'd like to dine there, so I'm really hoping he's ready and waiting for us again as I don't really want to ask. Here's hoping... :)

If you booked your cruise in a suite prior to 1/2016 you will still receive your complimentary specialty dining. Just check with the Michael's Club Conceirge and they should have a list. Otherwise they can resolve it for you.

Last month on the Summit, it was free for us staying in a Royal Suite, but not free for our friends staying in a Sky Suite. We dined together, sharing all of the dishes we ordered and they basically cut the bill in half and our portion was free and our friends paid for their portion. Hope that helps!
