Kreader Posted February 17, 2020 #1151 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Hi,Just got a good deal on a interior promenade cabin on Adventure of Seas May3 sailing-12 nights, Caribbean ports. It is a repositoning cruise tho. I paid $1373.55 for all port and taxes with a $83.00 obc. Used travel agent that has cruise and more in it's title. Other good rates for singles on other interior cabins. Don't know about other catergories. If interested, look into this soon, cabins are getting lesser being available. coastcat Posted February 18, 2020 #1152 Share Posted February 18, 2020 So much for resisting temptation. I booked a Sail Away balcony for the NCL Joy 5-day Pacific Coastal cruise for $387. That includes a $50 ShoreEx credit which covers all but $2 of the hop-on hop-off bus in San Francisco. No booze package, but I'll have orange juice from the buffet and free mediocre sparkling wine for being a Latitudes member. Mimosas at sunset, anyone? bottomfeeder Posted February 25, 2020 #1155 Share Posted February 25, 2020 Celebrity has their spring transatlantics now on special for only 125% single supplement--prices look good though at this date airfare might be problematic. http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Exciting_Deals/XcitingDeals_cel_tues.pdf

dreadpirate3 Posted March 5, 2020 #1157 Share Posted March 5, 2020 Not the most amazing deal, but booked a 3 night on Independence OTS solo for $300. Worth it for me and double cruise points. Sailing 5/29.
BEAV Posted March 5, 2020 #1158 Share Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) Today I booked the Celebrity Reflection 14-day Transatlantic Ft Lauderdale-Dublin departing April 24. The inside category Z guarantee sells for $499 and the single supplement is supposed to be 200% according to the price link below: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Exciting_Deals/XcitingDeals_cel_tues.pdf BUT.....if you try to book on line w/Celebrity or any Internet Travel Agent site, if you enter -1- person traveling it won't bring up the category Z guarantee as an option for solo guests. It defaults to much higher rates in categories that you select a stateroom. So I called Celebrity to inquire. The Agent on the phone said the booking systems for some reason don't allow solos on guarantees, however they ARE in fact available. You just have to KNOW to call in as opposed to booking on line. She took my information and had to have another department create the booking to override the system. Before she went to do that she confirmed with me I'd be paying 200% of $499 which I understood and agreed. It took about 10 minutes, and when she came back on the line she broke down my fare as follows: $649 cruise fare (that is only 125% instead of 200%) $144 gov't taxes/fees $59 Celebrity Cruise Care Insurance (which I opted to include) Total price: $827 I thought she must be mistaken about the price, but didn't ask questions and gave her my credit card and paid for the cruise. Sorry to be so long winded, but if anyone is interested, you have to call Celebrity directly and ask for the Category Z as a solo. Can't be booked on line. Rare alanstarr Posted May 18, 2020 #1160 Share Posted May 18, 2020 The July 3rd Alaska sailing (ex-Seattle) of RCL's Ovation of the Seas has some great deals for singles. Balcony is $954 ($1161 all in). You then should be able to Lift & Shift it to July 2021. Interior is $725, OV is $850. The equivalent date in 2021 would cost $2278 ($2503 all in).
Funsinger75 Posted June 24, 2020 #1161 Share Posted June 24, 2020 I’m booked on Enchanted Princess March 27, 2021 to the Caribbean. REALLY good price on their newest ship. Also, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas to Alaska in June 20, 2021 has a really good price on solo virtual balcony cabins

Funsinger75 Posted June 24, 2020 #1164 Share Posted June 24, 2020 I paid 1347.00. With the 60% off second guest promo it’s cheaper to book an interior, when I called to get the price drop, they let me have the cheaper price and kept my assigned virtual balcony cabin. I also took advantage of their Princess Plus promo ... for an extra $250 you get the Premium Drink Package, WiFi and Gratuities all covered. farmersfight Posted September 19, 2020 #1168 Share Posted September 19, 2020 RCL's Harmony of the Seas, 12 day TA (repositioning) from Port Canaveral, Fla to Barcelona, Spain w/ 1 port call only at Malaga, Spain, April 4-16, 2021. Price for 1 for an inside balcony (Oasis class ship, so she has inside balconies): $1,733 (includes taxes/port charges & tips). Works out to about $144/day. Price for 1 for an outside balcony: $1,800 (includes taxes/port charges & tips). Works out to about $150/day. With this Covid situation going on, not sure if this cruise will end up being cancelled. I won't "pull the trigger" on this cruise with current Covid restrictions (masks, social distancing, etc) but would if there was a vaccine. I hope the latest news that there will be a vaccine available to everybody by April 2021 turns out to be true, so we can all get back to solo cruising again!
BEAV Posted September 19, 2020 #1169 Share Posted September 19, 2020 (edited) That’s a good price, however it appears to be 200%, so it’s not a “deal” as far as solo occupancy is concerned. I arrived at basically the same rate when I priced first as a party of two, then next as a solo. Edited September 19, 2020 by BEAV

I did a mock booking on RCL's website. Isn't a "good price" a "deal"? Plus, the name of this topic is: Post cruise line single supplements/solo bargains here". I would definitely consider this a "solo bargain" (or "deal"). Yes, it looks like this cruise has the full solo supplement (200%) but the price also includes taxes, port charges & tips. Sometimes the overall out of pocket price of a cruise will be lower than a cruise with reduced solo supplement, as is the case here. A solo deal in my book. If it’s a good price, it’s a good price. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Agree with you both: a deal is a deal is a deal. And if you can get one on a solo, that makes it even better! Nothing I like better than a bargain because it allows me to cruise more often. The last few years, I've left my room key card in a slot machine while playing (pennies) in the casino and have been getting some incredible offers from Players Club and Casinos at Sea, etc. They used to only offer insides free, with available upgrades to ocean views and balconies, but this past year, it's been common to get a free ocean view. And, denatravels, many of the offers are when you might be able to go.

My intent was to let others reading know that the rate is 200% for solo occupancy. As opposed to less than 200% and folks wondering if they needed to book through any certain agency or travel consortium as is sometimes the case. Absolutely no offense intended. Let’s just hope the cruise sails as scheduled!
