uncannyvalleys Posted September 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2016 How old were all of you when you went on your first cruise? My parents were avid cruisers and passed the cruise bug to me early. First time was Rhapsody at age 10 with the 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise out of San Diego. Been hooked ever since! leaveitallbehind Posted September 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) I was 40, my wife was 32, and it was our 10th anniversary - which being the romantic that I am ;) was a surprise present for her. Our kids were 11, 5, and 3 on their first cruise with us, which was our 4th cruise, 5 years later. Crazy planning mom Posted September 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I was 27 and Dh was 29. This was before my Ds was born. Ds was 6 on his first cruise and I thought that was a good age. He no longer napped, was potty trained and actually sat through dinner at the dining room.
Florida_cruisers Posted September 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I was 23 and DH 29, it was a month prior to our engagement. DS went on his first cruise at 14 months. That was what we called a "tester" cruise to the Bahamas before taking him on the Baltic cruise.

BND Posted September 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I was 45 and DH was 48. We didn't have parents that took us on real vacations. Ours were to visit family since we both grew up in different states than our families were in.

luvscruising2007 Posted September 25, 2016 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2016 My dad was military and we returned from Alaska to Seattle when he was reassigned. I wasn't quite 7 when we sailed on a military transport ship. My more modern 1st cruise was at 22 with my 1st husband on our honeymoon to Nassau. DH and I were on a cruise when I was 31 on a Home Lines, Doric, to Bermuda. Then in this age of cruising sailed on Radiance of the Seas to Alaska when I was 61. All completely different experiences. But that first cruise was memorable and gave me the bug.

Rolla4fun Posted September 25, 2016 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I was 19 and it was during the big hair era! I watched Love Boat when I was a kid and that sparked my interest for cruises. My first cruise was on the Starship Atlantic which was one of the Big Red Boats. It truly was love at first sight!
