davekathy Posted October 2, 2016 #101 Share Posted October 2, 2016 I don't know how they do it but the burgers on X are really good. If you talking about the burgers done on the outside grill by the Mast Bar , totally agree.
sellwingri Posted October 2, 2016 #102 Share Posted October 2, 2016 I wish somehow they would ensure that all smokers in the casino are actually gambling. I'm an ex-smoker so I do have empathy but taking up stools to sit and just smoke makes no sense.
Beachammo Posted October 2, 2016 #103 Share Posted October 2, 2016 Just go to the RCI UK site for the most comprehensive cabin inventory. I already use the UK site for many things.....just saying Royal needs to make its US site more friendly.

However when the casino was closed as we were waiting to leave for Labadee there was a lady reading a book at the black jack table, smoking. No enforcement, but it was the smoking section. Whatever I left. It is not my job to police, but wish RCI would. Safe travels.
beverland Posted October 4, 2016 #105 Share Posted October 4, 2016 For the life of me I cannot understand WHY they show a movie by the pool mid day on a port day. My friend and I recently looked forward to a relaxing day by the pool on Coco Cay day. Low and behold - at noon they start playing Kung Fu Panda! What? I'm in the Caribbean! Very loud and so annoying. Luckily we had an aft balcony. We left the pool and enjoyed our nice quiet balcony. STOP PLAYING MOVIES BY THE POOL DURING THE DAY!!!!!!!!!
candiac Posted October 4, 2016 #106 Share Posted October 4, 2016 No doubt about it my one complaint is often not being able to sit for even five minutes by the pool because of all the chair hogs. Over the course of a ten day cruise, I may use the deck chair for less than an hour, total. I sit for a moment to watch what is going on, not read a book, or watch a movie. Maybe it is just to sit and wait for someone to arrive for lunch! I am a senior and a melanoma survivor so sitting in the sun is not a priority, but often sitting for a moment is nice. I am frustrated that RCCL does not monitor this better. Certainly, they must be able to see reserved chairs with no one in them for hours. They do a great job in the WJ ensuring that no one reserves their table, for lunch at 9am, why is this such a problem for the deck chairs? It is most frustrating to see hundreds of empty, but reserved chairs. One day I sat for a few minutes, willing to return the chair to the saver, if and when they returned. After a few minutes, the rudest young man returned and started yelling, yes, yelling, at me to MOVE. Not a problem for me, as there were lots of other empty chairs. Please RCCL, you are smart, you figured out the towel problem, figured out the dining problem, figured out the smoking, now what about the chair hogs? johnrobert57 Posted October 4, 2016 #107 Share Posted October 4, 2016 Stop making the servers give us a speech about them needing a 10 rating. We recognize good service and will reference it in my review. First Oasis sailing........miss Viking Crown. Want a lounge area that has an ocean view. We recognize good service and will reference it in my review. My last cruise (May) was the first I saw that. It was mildly annoying, and somewhat tacky, but I would like to see it toned down just a bit.

Rare cruiselvr04 Posted October 4, 2016 #110 Share Posted October 4, 2016 For the most we love the product. Sales pitches don't bother me, I walk right by or say no. However I do tire of the waiters singing at dinner. Singing once in seven nights is plenty. It adds to the time of dinner and takes the wait staff away. And unless you are sitting on the main floor or right by the edge in the upper dining rooms you can't see anything anyway. Chair hogs are so annoying. I shouldn't have to get up at 6 a.m. To get a chair near the pool or sit in the solarium. Lastly bring in good entertainment. It's why we still cruise with RCL. Poor singers, dull bar entertainers these are things that will make us leave. It's why we don't cruise Carnival and Princess anymore. For us this is the biggest difference from a cruise and a land vacation.
George C Posted October 4, 2016 #111 Share Posted October 4, 2016 I wish RCCL would have some adult only cruises. Also better entertainment last cruise had dancing listed with recorded music, never heard of that before on any of my 60 cruises ( we do not dance but like live music)

ronandannette Posted October 4, 2016 #113 Share Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Seems like about once a year RC has a swinger's cruise out of Tampa. In all seriousness, do you know if this is a full-ship charter and if so, do they disallow minors? Edited October 4, 2016 by ronandannette

Not sure about the minors, but I'd be surprised if they were not prohibited.
luckyprincess Posted October 5, 2016 #115 Share Posted October 5, 2016 Well! I haven't sailed since 2013. I'm going on the Independence this January. I've been on Freedom before and the beds in balcony cabin were great. Have they tossed their mattresses to install hard ones or is that in the newer ships? Also can't believe how much they are charging for specialty restaurants. It used to be $20 per person and it wasn't like you were getting a fine dining experience! Ours was clumsy with disorganized service and alright food. Totally fine for the $20 we paid each but unless the quality has gone way up almost double seems nuts!
