Well, not the ESJ since it is closed for major renovation... Check to see if it will be open when you want the stay.

El Conquistador is out at Fajado, outside of San Juan. It's a Hilton Waldorf Astoria branded resort. Someone one stayed here recently (this Spring) - do a little search in this forum for her thread. It's a resort property, about a hour's drive from San Juan. If you want to be out by the rainforest and a trip to the little bioluminescent bay, it is a good location.

The Stella: In San Juan itself, in the Condado section of San Juan.

Now, are you looking to pay with points? Just asking since 2 are Hilton and one is Marriott. If yes, you can add the local Starwood properties in the mix by joining the SPG program and linking your Marriott MR accounts. You get instant status matching and you can move points between the two programs for stays. This little thing would get you a chance at the Sheraton OSJ, right on the San Juan waterfront at the pier. Location-wise, it's great. Walk right out and you are in Old San Juan.

You didn't really say what you plans were while in PR. El Conquistador is about an hour away from the cruise port. So, if you have a few days before or after the cruise, then it's an excellent place to stay.

I have a FULL review of El Conquistador when we stayed there in August. There's HUNDREDS of pictures. The place was GREAT and the private island they have is awesome as well. My review is located in my signature line. :)

We enjoyed the Embassy Suites - nice room, great breakfast, okay happy hour, walk 3 blocks to the beach, lots of local dining options to choose from or two dining options inside the hotel (one is an Outback Steakhouse).

Agree with this post. We have been to San Juan 5 times and have stayed here 4 of those times. Should have been 5 for 5 as the one time was not very happy with our choice.

We stayed a few extra days in SJ after our cruise and chose Villa Herencia - awesome place!

We wanted to stay in Old San Juan and found this historic boutique hotel just steps from the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista. Included continental breakfast, steps from the San Juan Gate, El Morro and the Calle San Franciso/Calle Fortaleza shopping district - couldn't ask for a better place and not far from the cruise port
