"LIVE" from Norwegian Escape - Oct 22, 2016

Hello everyone . . . I have arrived in Miami. The flight was smooth for awhile, until about 30 miles from Miami. It got a little rough but I made it safely.

After I claimed my luggage, it was a very long walk to the MIA Mover. I used this in May for my MSC Divina Cruise. It is a 1.25-mile-long automated people mover system between MIA and the Miami Rental Car Center. The mover only takes about 2 minutes to get the rental center.

It didn’t take too long to drive from the Airport to my Hotel, (15 min) as it was late at night with not much traffic. I was going to make a post on my arrival last night, but my brain suggested that I lay down and watch the news for a few moments. I am staying again at the beautiful Marriott Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami.

This morning I am able to see Norwegian Sky, Enchantment of the Seas, Azamara Quest and Carnival Fantasy. I will try to watch them sail away later this afternoon. I may drive over to South Beach later today.

Here are a few pics from last night and this morning . . . Thanks for tuning in.

I'm sure the ship will be the cleanest in the fleet after they completely and totally disinfect it!

Thanks ckrobyn . . . I received the call about the late boarding (1PM)

No worries. . . I can have an extra Illy Americano ;) Thanks for tuning in.

Hello everyone. . . Welcome to DAY 1 of “LIVE” from Norwegian Escape.

I woke up at “Radio Dark30” this morning because this is Cruise Day!

Illy Café opened at 5:30 AM and there were several people waiting . . . .

It was still very dark, but I was able to see the sail away line up for this morning. (MSC Divina, Carnival Glory, Carnival Splendor, and Norwegian Escape)

The sun will be up soon, and the forecast for this afternoon calls for plenty of warm weather and sunny skies (82F).

Sail away is at 7PM this evening and I am sure the sun will be tucked away as we leave Miami.

My batteries have all been charged and memory cards have been cleared.

I have time to find my luggage tags because I received a call from NCL, and it was suggested that the Terminal will not be open until 1PM.

It should only take 10 minutes or so to get to the pier, so I have plenty of time.

I have met several passengers who will be sailing with me on Escape. . . They all seem very excited about boarding.

Can you blame them? I think one of the happiest times is the morning of Cruise Day!

See you onboard . . . Thanks for tuning in.

Radio, I'm looking forward to your live report. I'll be sailing on the Escape in May and just can't wait. The only cruise I have ever done was a 4 day Bahama cruise in 1989 or 1990 with Carnival on the Carnivale. That was a long, long time ago. LOL

Hi Radio, I am currently looking into hotels for our February Escape cruise. Our stay will only be for one night pre cruise.

Would you recommend the Marriott?

Is it close to any restaurants within walking distance?

Is it in a safe area?

I'm super excited for your Live reports as well as your photos and videos that you will be capturing from the GoPro 5! :D

I do recommend it here. I tried to stay at Intercontinental, but they were full.

There are several restaurants in the small mall between Marriott and Doubletree. . . I had lunch there yesterday. . .

They offer Italian, Asian, and Seafood choices. . . . You will like it here.
