Hi

I'm looking for a place to have dinner that is walking distance to Hampton Inn in brickell, any recommendations?

My plan is to check into the hotel around 4, go to CVS or at supermarket to pickup a few things for the cruise, go to dinner then go to south beach and walk around.

Any suggestions? I'll be there this Sat [emoji4]

You have 2 Publix markets close by and a CVS so you are covered there.

What kind of food are you looking for?? That would be helpful since we have many restaurants in the area.

Batch Gastropub at the bottom of the building will be packed will UF Gator fans since that's where the alumni meet on Saturday so skip that. (I'll be there!)

You don't want to eat in South Beach since you are going there to walk around?

I didn't even think of eating in South Beach, but yes that would be a good idea. I'm looking for something mid-range in price (I'm from NY/NJ so I would think the price are similar in range). As to food, we are pretty open as long as the food is good :) It will be 5 of us with the youngest at 17 so we don't have to cater to younger children

Thanks for your help

I would head to Yardbird in South Beach. That would be my first choice, it is southern food.

Havana 1957, Cuban, three locations but I like the Ocean Drive one the best

Tap Tap, Haitian

Sushi Samba Sushi, consistently good

Prime 112, Steak, excellent

Those are a few to start.

I also vote for Yardbird. It's amazing. Afterwards you can walk Lincoln Road.

We are in season. You will not get reservations for nine anywhere for Saturday night that is any good. I'd take a bad time reservations at Yard Bird than a good time at a so so restaurant.

You had mentioned having dinner near where your hotel is located and then going to South Beach.

I am not sure what type of cuisine you want but consider Perricones. They are an Italian Restaurant and do well with large parties such as yours. They don't take reservations.

After dinner then you all could go over to South Beach and walk around.

As mentioned Publix is nearby as is CVS.

Whatever you do, have a nice time.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

We are now 10 for dinner. Since it is now even more of us I'm thinking of going someplace quick for dinner, ex: a pizza place. I'd rather spend time walking around South Beach then sitting in a restaurant - with some many of us it will take longer if we sit down to eat.

Any suggestions on a Pizza place either near the Hampton inn - Brickell or South Beach? Coming from NY I'm used good pizza :D

2 more days :)

As a fellow New Yorker, I am so very picky about my pizza! A new pizza place just opened called Visa-01 and it's amazing!!! In the short time they have been open, I have been there 8 times already. You can walk to it very easily as it's on the way to Mary Brickell. They are also over on the beach. Local restaurant.

Another quick choice if you love tacos is Coyo Taco. They are on the same street as the hotel. Make a left out of the hotel and they will be on the opposite side of the street right on the corner. Fast and fresh. You will have no issues finding a table for 10. They are a local place.

Another quick place for pizza/pasta and salads would be Vapiano which is located on Brickell Ave. They make their pasta fresh daily. They also have fresh potted herbs alongs the wall in case you want extra on your food! European chain but really good!

My Ceviche and Zuuk are another choice and they are right around the corner from your hotel. Quick and early in the evening you should be okay to find tables. Their Fl Stone Crab is excellent at My Ceviche and they have expanded so are around many areas down here now. All locally owned.

I did go see the pizza list on their website now that you mentioned it.

Power Pizza is disgusting and nothing like NY pizza!

Pieducks is okay, not a sit down place.

Pizza Rustica, okay. Nothing like NY pizza. The Brickell one isn't as good as the downtown one.

Piola is actually good and around the corner from your hotel.

Vapiano is one of the one's that I mentioned and I really do like their pizza quite a bit.

Honestly for pizza I would go:

1. Visa-01

2. Piola or Vapiano.

Vapiano wins when it comes to their pasta however. It's an interesting place. Everyone gets a card, you then go up and order your food. They put your choices on the card. They will make your individual portion of pasta right in front of you. There are long tables all around. Full bar. It's more of a self serve type of place in a restaurant setting. Then they have gummy bears in a container as a treat on the way out!

We will be at the Courtyard Marriott. Brickell area

Looking for a pub type of restaurant OR good burger & salad place.

Casual and easy with good food.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance :)

Very casual is the Burger and Beer Joint in the Brickell shops. DH liked the beer choices and eating outdoors when we arrived in Miami last year. We just had a couple apps and a salad to hold us until dinner later. Burgers are supposed to be good per review sites.

Batch Gastropub, below the Hampton Inn, is cool, food good and has an interesting menu.
