No help on casino treads

I think most people post on the individual lines pages, not in the casino area. Many don't go off of their main page. Anything I can help you with?

Well my question was "I have just returned from NCL Escape and Getaway, I also did the getaway last December, we obtained our lucky cards this time. We booked our first cruise via an american travelagent, the most recent via a UK travel agent due to exchange rate falls.

We go in the casino every night and both my parents and my husband and myself gamble, not heavily but over the 2 weeks my husband and I probably lost $6-7000- not lucky at all on this cruise, some slot play but mostly 3 card poker.

How do we see if we qualify for comped rooms for next cruise, as we wish to book for February 17"

All you need to do is call CAS (877-752-9625 or 877-PLAY-NCL). Just explain your situation to the agent - they'll ask for your Latitudes number (or numbers in your case) - your parents' play won't get you anything, but if both you and your husband are planning to travel together, a $6-7K loss will get you a comped room for sure - either oceanview or balcony.

This is correct. They'll tell you what you are able to get. Look at cruises first so you can tell them which one you're interested in. You may only qualify for an inside on a certain cruise or a balcony on another. It depends on the cruise and if it's high season or holiday sailing or other factors.

Good luck!

Wait. I am not into CAS or gambling that much but let me get this correct: if you lose such an amount on a cruise in the casino you will get a next cruise for "free"? :)

edit; I thought you would need to be with CAS first and have some registered play instead or? I am really unfamiliar with CAS so no flame! :)

Yes. If you gamble and use your casino card or room key in slot machines or at the tables, Casinos at Sea will rate you and either provide a discounted cruise or comp'ed cruise.

Depending on your level of play and the cost of the cruise you are requesting, you can get comp'ed from a inside through suite.

You are always responsible for port charges and taxes, but the cost of the cruise is discounted or comped.

The rating period is from 01 April - 31 March. So, your cruise last December may not be considered. But your play on the Getaway/Escape B2B would be considered. Just call CAS at the numbers above and ask them for availability on the Feb 17th cruise. They will tell you what they have to offer you. Make sure that the consider both you and your husband's play.

You're likely to get a comp'ed room. You will be responsible for "admin fee" and government taxes/port expenses/fees. (approx $350 USD pp for a 7 night cruise - could be more). You would automatically get a casino drinks card for you and your husband.

You can request and upgrade to a higher class room. The casino has fixed prices for upgrades (not necessarily the difference is cost you would see on the web site).

Once you get your first comp'ed room (and you gamble a little), most of your rooms after that could be/would be comp'ed.

Just curious......if a $7,000 loss doesn't qualify as "heavily" what does?

To get a basic drinks card, you need $7,500 in slots play / $15,000 in video poker play

To get to HOT status, you need $25,000 in slot play / $50,000 in video poker play

To get to GOLDEN status, you need $75,000 in slot play / $150,000 in video poker play

To get to VIP status, you need $175,000 in slot play / $350,000 in video poker play

To get to Elite status,,,, lot and lots more

These are play, not losses. But still lots to move up the player's club ranks.

Just to clarify, the CAS Tier Levels (as well as the play needed to 'achieve' them and the "evaluation period" noted) that BirdTravels posted above are correct in that they determine certain ONBOARD comps you receive when you reach those levels (such as Food & Beverage, Spa and other credits.) Those tier levels DO NOT however, determine comps for "free" cruises.

Comp offers for cruise discounts are based on your actual casino play ON YOUR LAST CRUISE - regardless of your CAS tier level.

For example, I am at the VIP level with CAS. For reaching that level, I get an automatic $200 Food & Beverage credit, a $250 Spa credit and a bunch of onboard amenities on every cruise I take during the "plan year."

However, even though I am at VIP level, if I go on a cruise this month and decide not to gamble - or I gamble very little - I would not qualify for any comp'd cruise in the future. I probably would get a 20% casino discount for my PAST play, but no free comp. Just being VIP level with CAS doesn't equate to a free cruise offer - it means nothing except for those onboard comps (which I would get on every single cruise I took during the plan year even if I didn't gamble a single dollar.)

It seems many people confuse the tier levels with the comp offers, so I thought I'd try and clarify. Hope this helps! :)

PS What DOES determine your comps for "free" cruises is your theoretical ("theo") and/or actual loss on your LAST cruise. So the OP, with an actual loss of $7K, would definitely qualify for an oceanview or balcony comp. But they need to book that BEFORE going on any other NCL cruise or that opportunity will be lost. If that makes sense! :)

OP said most of their losses were on table games (3 card poker) they lost on some slots, so I am curious as well how they look at table game play vs slots for any discounted or comped cruise. I guess the best thing to do is call CAS and ask.

Unless you totally refuse, all table game play is rated. They will always ask for your players card or room key and the pit boss monitors your play.

And yes, I totally agree with pcakes122 that the level of your comp'ed room is based on theoreticals on "recent" not "last" cruises. In pcakes' example, he's a VIP and regardless of whether he has a string of winning cruises, CAS would never refuse to comp him.

Thank you all for your responses - I will be ringing CAS shortly and hopefully they will offer us some comped/discounted cruise - really was not hard to lose that much money over 14 days with 2 people at tables, but over the 2 weeks I personally only gained 2500 points on my card despite those losses as you do not obtain many points at the tables, especially since over the 2 weeks we only had 1 hit of trips and no straight flushes at all- really was an unlucky period for us but we still enjoyed the whole experience and I totally love the casino where you meet such interesting people and some times funny people, e.g some people who are so drunk yet still play, we laughed so much when a player was drunk to the point of checking 1 card, it being a 2 and still playing the hand- my daughter(not playing but my mascot, but old enough to be there) said why not just play blind LOL- he was just going through the motions- so funny - he was really a lovely person and we enjoyed his company that night and the following nights.

I agree with you here about "recent" cruises if you cruise frequently (multiple times a year) - but they really do only look at your "last" cruise if you only sail once every six months or longer. I have a friend who is "Golden" level. In March she earned 7600 points and lost $3K (and was comp'd a cruise on the Gem for September.) On the Gem she only earned 2400 points and broke even. CAS wouldn't offer her another comp (only a 20% casino discount) even though she is a Golden tier level. Your last cruise really is a big factor.

Remember to ask about upgrading the offer!

for my upcoming 14 day cruise I was offered a free inside which meant saving about usd 1,000 pp taking into account the admin fee and taxes. I asked about upgrading to Haven and their offer equaled a 2 for 1 fare, savings of usd 3,500 pp!

I responded to the OP in the original thread in the casino forum and advised them of the website link for CAS. This OP wanted an actual contact person and not the general number that we all need. It is not a closed shop. The OP was very sarcastic that I tried to help with the link and I simply stated "it is not that difficult with the web link". It is quite easy to get your casino info from the main number. The OP is quite rude and condescending as some of us did try to helping the original thread. SMH

Is there a reason no-one offers help on the casino threads, quite a few threads request the contact details of the CAS agents but not many replies, is this a closed shop?

I tend to agree! It may be that those who have the "best" offers from their CAS agents are concerned about giving that info away? As I have done numerous searches.....trying to find "old" posts that mention which agent or agents seem to have better deals/offers....and cannot find any of them.

I usually deal with whoever answers the phone at CAS.....have been on 4-5 cruises within the past year.....have been VIP for over 3 years now....and am beginning to doubt the offers being presented. Last cruise made "Elite" status....CAS agent that I am dealing with was not even able to tell me what add'l perks came with....

So truly looking for a better agent.....the one that I have been dealing with for the past year or so has not even answered my last two e mails. It is discouraging when you meet other gamblers in the casinos that are AMAZED that you are not receiving more in the line of comps after watching my level of play.

And with regards to "closed shop" I have also tried to join the CAS Facebook page.....NEVER rec'd a response....despite having tried 4-5 times. Again, I am beginning to think that those that are receiving the best deals and info are keeping it close to the chest...

I actually think your original response was condescending and unhelpful

I have never and will never spend to loose that much money so this thread is irrelevant to me but please let me know how you get on.

The thread was really interesting to read and can't wait for the outcome.
