Tm100 Posted November 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2016 What is your favorite part of having a balcony? We like drinking glasses of wine and having an appetizer on our balcony in the late afternoon. Recently our favorite thing to do is to bring the chairs and table inside and move our mattress out on the balcony floor so we can sleep outside and hear the waves crash. Our steward probably thinks we are crazy when he puts it back in the morning !

Tm100 Posted November 22, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted November 22, 2016 Maybe YOU should put it back..... Why? We pay for the tips. The sheets need to be changed anyways because they get very wet from the humidity and sea breeze.

Clarea Posted November 22, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2016 Do you only book balcony state rooms? Our category of first choice is a Junior Suite. If that's too expensive, and we really want to go on the cruise, then we book a D/E balcony or an OV.
OCruisers Posted November 22, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2016 The large glass space to let in natural light. Like you, we like the LARGE view from the glass doors. We seldom actually sit on our balcony but like being able to walk directly outside from our cabin anytime we wish. :)
Rare LisaLisa87 Posted November 22, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 22, 2016 I love being able to watch as we pull into port in the morning without going up on deck. Sailing into Valletta, Malta was stunning and I felt like I had a front row seat! Sent from my iPad using Forums

queen_jen Posted November 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 22, 2016 On a cruise we took in 2007. My Mom and I sat on the balcony while my 2 years old son took a nap. It was pure relaxation. I love it. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Tm100 Posted November 22, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted November 22, 2016 (edited) And what do you think the humidity and sea breeze is doing to the mattress?? Likely nothing worse than the incontinent 400 lb people who stayed in the room before us ;). Edited November 22, 2016 by Tm100
TheTruthCanHurt Posted November 22, 2016 #16 Share Posted November 22, 2016 And what do you think the humidity and sea breeze is doing to the mattress?? I was actually wondering about that when I read that. My balcony is typically wet in the mornings, I was wondering if it would make the mattress moldy? Like others I like watching the ships come into port from the balcony. I typically book starboard side as more often than not, the ships dock that way. Yes,I know this can be done on a deck but it feels so much better on a balcony.
FunCruiser56 Posted November 22, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 22, 2016 We love to sit on our balcony while in port enjoy breakfast or lunch and people/boat watch. brandy3415 Posted November 22, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 22, 2016 Just off Oasis, with Central Park balcony. reedl Posted November 22, 2016 #22 Share Posted November 22, 2016 I have fallen asleep on the loungers in the Grand Suite more than once. It is totally relaxing, and is much better than falling asleep on deck. Also just walking out in my pajamas in the AM and smelling the air makes it worthwhile.
