Help with first B2B

There are 10 of us in 5 cabins sailing on the Silhouette, Jan 22. At that trip's end, 8 are disembarking, but 2 of us, from separate cabins, are staying for an additional week (girls' week-we are sending the guys home). We are moving to a different deck, different cabin, different category. Our TA says it cannot be treated like a B2B because we are from 2 different bookings?? What do we need to do to make this as easy as possible? Can we disembark and have an early lunch with friends in FLL and return to the ship? Any chance we could ask for one of these elusive 'B2B credits' or discounts or should we just be glad we have the second week and enjoy (which we will, of course...) Thanks for any insight!

You can always ask for tge B2B discount. We have done 4 B2B's with X and never got a discount or extra OBC for a B2B.

You can get off the ship in FLL and have lunch with your friends. As a continuing passenger you will be given an In Transit card which will allow you to get off in FLL and reboard within having to go through check-in at the Pier.

You’re TA is wrong! You are doing a B2B Cruise if you are staying on the same ship. When you booked your Cruise you were given two booking numbers. One for the first leg and one for the second leg. Changing cabins, categories has nothing to do with it. Same goes for your friend. A day or two prior to the first leg ending you will receive detailed info on where, time and what to bring on Turn Around Day. At the end of the first leg all of your on board accounts will be closed. If you have any non-refundable OBC use it as it will not carry over to the second leg.

Will they still allow us to move things to the new cabin or will we need to completely pack? The husbands will leave their suitcases out the night before, so everything remaining in our 2 cabins will go to the one new cabin. I am probably just way overthinking this due to excitement, but the tags came yesterday so its getting very real!:)

That may be the Travel Agent's call. It's worth asking again, but not stressing over it

" What do we need to do to make this as easy as possible?"

Speak to both the current and the new stewards. They will coordinate your move and tell you how to accomplish it most easily.

Absolutely yes. You will get "transit passes" for your return.

Don't forget that each cruise is treated independently -- nothing carries over, not internet, not beverage packages, not unused on-Board credit. You will need to settle the first cruise's account before the second one starts.

Everything on hangers can stay on hangers, everything has to be put in suit cases. The cabin steward of your old room will coordinate the move with the new steward. When you come back to the ship all your stuff will be in the new cabin.

I'm not sure, but I think if you leave the ship, you can't get back on until general boarding.

I've done b2b cruises. Celebrity is rather easy. They treat each cruise separately. Just make sure that you zero out all charges before the next cruise. While the change over can vary from ship to ship, my recent b2b on the Summit was so easy. A few days before the end of the first cruise, there was an info meeting to walk you though the process. If staying in same cabin, nothing moves. If changing cabins, empty drawers and leave hanging clothes on hangers. Cabin stewards will move everything. Do not pack up and put your case out in the hall. On the last morning we could either disembark and check in later or meet in a designated lounge. We met in the lounge where our sea passes from the first cruise were taken, new sea passes were issued, photos were taken, immigration officials checked passports, etc. You never had to leave the ship. It took less than 10 minutes. There was a special lunch and laundry coupons. There was no b2b discount. We have received nice b2b discounts on other cruise lines. The only down side of doing a b2b is repeating menus, mostly the same entertainment, and having to attend 2 muster drills.

We did the second leg of a B2B last Sunday on the Silhouette. We met in the Passport bar and, scanned out and walked down the gangway. Customs was waiting to check our passports and then we were given our new room keys. We walked up the other gangway, had our picture taken, scanned in and that was it.

We almost always do B2B or B2B2B series, and the turnaround day procedure can vary greatly. Not only can the procedure vary between ships, it can vary between legs on a B2B2B.

But in addition to what others have posted, B2B passengers will receive a succinct instruction letter regarding the turnaround day procedure prior to the end of the first leg. While suitcases and clothes on hangers will be moved by staff, you will be responsible for moving the contents of the safe. You may be invited to the concierge class embarkation luncheon. The last four years we have always received B2B discounts ($50.00 for short legs and $100 for those over 14 nights), so have your travel agent ask. And the gangway is generally closed for a period of time prior to the embarkation of the new passengers so if you want to leave the ship to enjoy lunch onshore you may need to leave by 9:30 AM or so. It is also actually quite enjoyable to stay onboard on turnaround day but we do generally leave the ship.
