herdingdogmom Posted January 2, 2017 #51 Share Posted January 2, 2017 If you book online don't you have to pay and then get it refunded once you are onboard? No. Le Bistro and La Cucina are now a la carte and can be booked online at no charge. Just show the Platinum certificate when you check in at the restaurant. CruisinHarvey Posted January 10, 2017 #53 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Do they ever charge to book a reservation? Rob G. Yep. If you reserve Teppanyaki or Moderno, you're charged immediately, since they are a flat rate. If you have SDP, though, they will use your SDP days first. cruise pup Posted January 10, 2017 #54 Share Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) But don't expect to get two bottles of wine. I have! And I have been able to dine in 2 different restaurants. I always talk to the Hotel Manager at the Meet & Greet and he takes care of it with the Restaurant Manager. Kruizin'Kath Posted January 11, 2017 #58 Share Posted January 11, 2017 It is worth a try to contact the (Next) Cruise Consultant on board and relatewhat is happening in your case. No NCL will not upgrade your status until after the cruise but the Cruise Consultant may off you a free dinner with bottle of wine for two and priority boarding tendering etc. small things that can be done without a lot of fuss. But then NCL doesn't need to do this. But if you don't contact the NCL representative nothing at all will happen until your next cruise. Oh it helps to rave positively about NCL and possibly book the Next Cruise Certificates showing your appreciation for any offerings granted ! Have any other comments or feedback share them - you might get a token plate of chocolate covered strawberries (or nothing) ! Handle this like the recent Grinch that stole the Holiday Cheer and all you may receive is a lump of coal instead of your order for lobster. You should get the drift - wireless message - be nice - but do show an interest and contact that Consultant and have an interesting conversation. Thanks for the replies! My plan will be to schmooze with the cruise consultant as I buy my Next Cruise Certificate!!:D

sonntags Posted January 11, 2017 #60 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Do not send anything delicate to the ships laundry as the detergent is pretty harsh and the temperature pretty high. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Also, they put laundry tags on each item...and I do mean each item..that are kind of difficult to remove when they're returned to you. Our last cruise we were Platinum and my husband and I found the laundry tags too bothersome, so I doubt we'll use the perk again.
don't-use-real-name Posted January 12, 2017 #61 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Also, they put laundry tags on each item...and I do mean each item..that are kind of difficult to remove when they're returned to you. Our last cruise we were Platinum and my husband and I found the laundry tags too bothersome, so I doubt we'll use the perk again. Yeah them tags like kids going to summer camp but still yet some things get lost and without the tags it is difficult to reunite clothes with their owner. The tags are about a quarter inch by 1 inch and have the laundry batch number data. Must be made out of corrugated burlap akin to gunny sack #1 ! They are ironed on and the places that these tags are ironed on is pure torture. The back of the neck or waist in the most sensitive area especially so if one has a tramp stamp that is sunburned. Ouchy ouchy ouchy all the way home ! Helps to have one of them weapons of mass destruction (a small pliers) to hank the tag off - tweezers have no effect on the removal. Run some items through the laundry more than once and have twin tags seesawing etching a new pattern of discomfort ! The personal laundry is delivered in a ever so nice basket and is wrapped with care - some items are on hangers - BUT be careful of the powerful bite of the tag like a spider bit you ! Have an opportunity to take the BST (Behind the Scenes Tour) and be really amazed at the operation of the ships laundry a 24/7/365 operation with machines larger than some small cars. dans0202 Posted January 12, 2017 #62 Share Posted January 12, 2017 If my wife and I are traveling in separate cabins but we each have platinum status (we will have our two children with us) do we each get the benefits or does NCL split them. The benefits that are per stateroom will still be per stateroom: Your stateroom will get them and your wife's stateroom will get them. :)
Budget Queen Posted January 12, 2017 #64 Share Posted January 12, 2017 You're just not talking to the right people. Yeah, I guess I should stomp my feet and demand I get split meals. It isn't worth the time to me- I cruise every month and the perks are hardly my reason for traveling. I ask once and go with that answer. I'm not entitled to any exceptions nor are going to "demand" I am so important etc.
