My humble opinion - MSC Divina Yacht Club

Does the menu in LeMuse change daily, same but different specials, or stay exactly the same every day? If the main dining room is having a special dish offered, can you ask that be served?

Le Muse menu changes each day - there are some items that are on the menu every day for instance the tenderloin was on every day of the week

From what I understand they have the same items as the MDR - If not though I can't imagine them telling you no - I know I wanted something they served the night before on one of the evenings and the head guy tried his hardest to get it for me they just did not have any left so it was not possible

I have a soon to be 12 year old. We are debating the divina or waiting for the Seaside. There seems to be much more for kids on the Seaside. Did the kids have enough to do?

...they have the bigger cabins. We cruise on the Divina every March in either a YC2 or YC3 cabin. These cabins are huge with totally seperate bedrooms.

I was very disappointed when checking out the Seaside that these cabins have been Recatagorized as Aurea suites . ALthough now cheaper, they have no access to the yacht club area.

Thank you for the info. That's one thing I didn't like the Haven restaurant. Their menu stayed the same, so we seem grateful we had the specialty pkg.

Yes I did have a set dining time 6 pm - And because we always made sure we were there at 6 pm we always got the same table

I know larger parties of people usually had same table because they made sure they had the appropriate size available for them but smaller parties got moved around a bit sometimes

Our experience with Le Muse had a few hiccups. We were told our butler would escort us the first evening....to show us the way. We told him when we wanted to go. In retrospect I realize he must have phoned Le Muse to tell them we were coming. At dinner that night the hostess asks if we would like to eat at the same time the next evening. We say yes. At lunch the next day the same hostess confirms again that we will eat at the same time as the previous night. Imagine my surprise when we arrive at the appointed time and are told there is no table ready for us!! The host offered to get us some sparkling wine if we wanted to wait at the outside bar by the aft pool. (There is no place to wait outside Le Muse other than standing in front of the elevators and blocking traffic. I went outside to see about sitting at the bar. It was windy and humid and people in bathing suits and towels were there. It was formal night and I didn't want to sit out there and get my hair blown. I said we would go down to the Black & White Lounge.

We had bought the drink packet coupons because I thought we might have drinks outside YC so we got a couple of drinks there. If I had not had the coupons I would have asked the Le Muse host to give us the sparkling wine and we would have gone somewhere to sit down. In about 15 minutes we got a table.

Not wanting this to happen again I sent my husband to talk to the host at lunch the next day. He suggested that we come at 6 every evening and we would be guaranteed a table. I did not want to eat at 6 so I went to ask the concierge for advice. He informed me that we should never go to Le Muse on our own, that we should always let him know when we were going and he would call them first. So from then on we did just notify the concierge just before we were finished with our drinks in the bar and all went smoothly.

We sailed Divina a couple of months later with another couple...and although I had told them all this...the husband got suckered into believing the host when he assured us we would have the same table the next night if we came at the same time. We did and it was just as before. No table ready. So the husband then believed me that you have to let the concierge call Le Muse before you go over. As its a bit of a trek and your drinks are only free inside YC.

I know this may be different for other people. I'm sure it would be different if you went to Le Muse for dinner right as they open. But to avoid confusion for anyone else, I suggest you let the concierge call for you. At least on Divina where the restaurant is not physically connected to the YC.

Thanks for the information. We are sailing YC on Divina for the first time in April, and I've read everything I can find. This is the first I've seen this mentioned.

It's basically the same in the Yacht Club restaurants of all four MSC ships (soon to be five). The key individual is always the restaurant Maitré and it's he that the concierge calls for reservations. If you have an understanding with the Maitré for dining at the same time and same table and waiter, then he will probably give you a time when the previous occupants of that table would normally be finished. We always do this but there have been a couple times when those previous guests took longer than expected and we had to wait a few minutes at the entrance. Naturally if you want to eat at 18.00 you'll be in the first group and guaranteed to get your desired table.

Not a personal problem for me.. just an unfortunate appellation on your part.

I won't argue with you...

yes... no longer helpful... I will move on.

You are not alone. I actually thought the same thing, that it wasn't necessary. The OP was obviously angry with the attendant's behavior so I guess with that added descriptor, I took notice also. Not trying to start anything. I will move on as well, but just wanted to let you know you weren't the only one who noticed that.

Our experience with the Yacht Club and Le Muse last month was wonderful.

10 day out of Miami to as far as Panama.

When boarding, ultimately the ship-side Butler escorted us to the Concierge station, and the Maitre d' was there and inquired as to our 'Preferred' dining time.

We chose 8:00, dining for two.

That evening the Butler did escort us to the dining room, and everything went well.

For the rest of the cruise we would arrive, by ourselves, at varying times around 8:00. Sometimes 10 minutes early, perhaps 15 minutes later, but in every case we were either seated immediately or had to wait for less than 5 minutes.

We had not requested the same table each evening, as we enjoyed moving around the room for different perspectives and different neighbors.

I believe that this was our experience on our previous Divina booking.

Thank you for the review, we are considering the Divina in April so your review really helped, again thank you. I have a quick question about the picture package. So if I understood correctly this was 100 pictures (the pictures they take throughout the ship and excursions etc) for 98 dollars. So my question is do, because I was not sure by your post. Did you get all of the pictures? All Sizes? and what were considered specialty the specialty pictures that were not included. We are experienced cruisers however this is our first time considering MSC. We have learned cruising as I sure you have too that most things like this sually have so many stipulations they become not worth it quickly lol.

Thank you in advance
