Cruizen Susan Posted January 10, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Just off the Eclipse and never saw more than 4 people there at one time. INHO it's A waste of space. Drinks are ok at best, but not worth the LOOOONG wait for oneAs far as Johnny Walker, my wife is a fan but Johnny Walker Black was as high as the premium drink package went. Others available up to $85.00 a shot PLEASE BRING BACK MOLECULAR!!! Wow, I just read your post, AFTER I posted my comment. We feel the same way! Rare ghstudio Posted January 10, 2017 #27 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Wow' date=' I just read your post, AFTER I posted my comment. We feel the same way![/quote'] Last month, I upgraded to the premium package and visited the world bar for the first time on the equinox. I guess I liked what others don't like...I liked the fact that it was a small, uncrowded bar where I could sit quietly or talk with friends to be, which is what happened. Never a wait for drinks and a charming lady bartender who had a sense of humor. I tried four of the included special drinks and they were all quite good...not that I now crave them, but they were pleasant. I wound up enjoying JW Platinum which is really quite good...I'm normally a single malt scotch drinker so I have a pretty good frame of reference. On past cruises, I've walked by the molecular bar and it was empty..well, maybe the same few people that are at the new bar. I guess different strokes for different folks.... FlorenceItaly Posted January 10, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Eclipse has it and for the last twenty two days it was virtually empty every day. It was not empty on our Jan 2-8 Eclipse cruise. Marie
ChucktownSteve Posted January 10, 2017 #29 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I met ghstudio last month in the Equinox World Class Bar where we both drank the Platinum with the Premium package. Nice chap. We had very good service. But from what others have said about the Eclipse WCB, I won't be drinking there if all they'll serve me is Black. I can get that at any ship's bar. Hopefully with better service too.

My experience has been the same as yours. I actually like the new WCB better than the previous Molecular Bar. I am going to see if I can get them to serve my wife some while while I enjoy what they offer more often. I would not say it was busier than the previous Molecular Bar, but about the same. Very underutilized, but makes it a quiet place to enjoy the cocktails.
chamima Posted January 10, 2017 #31 Share Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) I really liked the Molecular Bar and most of the group I cruise with enjoyed the drinks there. I'm just off the Eclipse where I tried most of the cocktails at the new World Bar. I can see why it's usually empty. I found most of the cocktails to be pretty bad. They were uninteresting, unimaginative and not very balanced. Just bad! And the bartenders would not make anything not on the menu no matter how much I begged them. There are a couple of tasty cocktails served in Sushi on 5 that are made at the World Bar. Could not even get those. That's complete BS, if I have a drink package I should be able to get the drink made without having to purchase low grade sushi (and it was low grade). The Molecular and then the World Class Bars were our go-to places on our last several cruises! I certainly hope the grumpy bartender you encountered is now home on the vacation he obviously needed. As far as cocktails from Sushi on 5 - I saw that some looked interesting and was planning on stopping there for a couple. I certainly hope I won't need to order any Sushi just to get a cocktail. My husband is a vegan so there is only one thing on their menu ( the vegetable roll) that he can eat anyways. We were on the Silhouette TA in November and loved it!. The Martini bar was a little to crowed for us but bar at World Class Bar Had nice small crowd. George the bartender was nice and even fixed a "special drink guaranteed" to cure my husband's cold. What we really enjoyed was the mixology class they held three times. It cost $30,was limited to eight people. George had recipes for 8 drinks and each person prepared one of the recipes behind the bar and served each of us a small portion. We learned a few tricks and met some new friends. We took the class twice we enjoyed it so much as did another couple. If the "George" that you met on the Silhouette is the same George that was on the Eclipse 2 years ago in Molecular then, yes, he will make lots of things not on the menu (and not on ANY menu!!) We let him be creative and had some wonderful drinks!!! If anyone sails with him in the future ask him to make a "What the Hell..." I have no idea what was in it but it was delicious!!! That mixology class sounds great. I hope they'll have it on the Eclipse!!! How did you hear about it? Edited January 10, 2017 by chamima
sollyman Posted January 10, 2017 #32 Share Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) It might be of interest to Steve, and maybe others, that JW Blue is currently on sale at £50 (about $60 at todays exchange rate) for a 750cl bottle in Waitrose.....one of our premium supermarkets. Very few over here drink it, but there is no accounting for taste. :) Check out their current offers for over 130 whiskyies just for interest. http://www.waitrosecellar.com/whisky-shop Edited January 10, 2017 by sollyman
CoconutOne Posted January 10, 2017 #33 Share Posted January 10, 2017 As another poster said, it's on Reflection. It was quiet there most nights, but it's where I usually hung out. It was also only what was on the menu- nothing else. I think the problem is Reflection doesn't have a lot of synergy when it comes to venue placement. For example, Entertainment Court is always dead since the conference center and future cruise sales are plopped in there. World Class is dead because who's looking at art at night? Sushi on 5 is too big and creates another dead zone. It would have been better off by the casino. There's a lot of potential to liven things up if they just move things around. ivycruise Posted June 24, 2017 #36 Share Posted June 24, 2017 It drives me crazy that on one ship the bartender will make custom drinks, next one I go on "nope only whats on menu". On the Equinox last fall, the bartender would make me the old Molecular drink I liked. The first couple of nights I had to go get him Grand Marnier, after that he had the bottle and made them for me every night. This last cruise on the Eclipse no such luck. BTW bartender on Equinox got a nice big tip and mentioned in the cruise review. Last one got nada! The bar staff on our last Eclipse cruise were pretty bad (except Martini bar). The Pool Bar, Sunset Bar and World Bar staff all seemed to be really mad all the time. Same here. We had a fantastic barkeep in the World Class bar on a 14 night Eclipse back in Jan 2016. He would deviate from the drink menu to make some fantastic drinks. Unfortuantely he was leaving celebrity and it was his last cruise. Tried to get the other bar tenders to deviate ever so slightly on our next Reflection and Silhouette trips and and they would say "we can't change anything on the menu at all". This flexibility might have something to do with the crowd or lack thereof at the WCB as it was packed on the Eclipse each night and on our other cruises very lightly attended. Mynki Posted June 24, 2017 #37 Share Posted June 24, 2017 We're just recently off the Eclipse. We are of the opinion' date=' among lots of others, that we gave it a try, and then another try, but the World class bar just did not do it for us, especially in the area of customer service. Took forever it seemed to get your drink, and poorly staffed. We loved the Molecular bar, however.[/quote'] In an odd way I'm pleased you've said that. The only examples of bad customer service we have had on Celebrity all featured bartenders. Reading posts on here it would seem that they are the weak link in the Celebrity customer service chain. Service could certainly be improved. Perhaps if service wasn't so dire then it would be busier. I've never been in with more than eight people drinking in there and our group made up half of that. We had one bartender in the World Class Bar who was not only rude, but also aggressive and even challenged me to complain about him to his manager! I complained about his behaviour to a suitable officer instead and as a result he was removed from duty for the rest of our trip and possibly even longer. I pointed out that everything will have been captured on CCTV and told her that she should watch exactly what happened, she did, hence him being removed from service. This wasn't a situation that filled me with joy at all, but he really did need to be disciplined and retrained.

TeeRick Posted June 24, 2017 #39 Share Posted June 24, 2017 We truly enjoyed World Class Bar on Silhouette this year as a very nice place to have an unusual drink and quiet conversation in great contrast to the very loud Martini Bar. I for one hope they put the WCB on some M-Class ships and I think it is likely it will be on Edge-Class.

Just off the Equinox and had the polar opposite of my Eclipse experience at the World Class Bar. The bartenders (Igor and Ram) were fantastic. If the bar wasn't packed they were more than happy to make some custom stuff for us. I did manage to find a few of the standard cocktails that I liked. I still like that Agave Sunrise from Sushi on 5 though.
CruiserByHeart Posted November 19, 2017 #41 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Eclipse has it and for the last twenty two days it was virtually empty every day. The World Class bar was still there on the past transatlantic and populated each evening by this very enchanting couple who just happened to be... my wife and I. We tely enjoyed the craftsmanship of Toni and Dejan and their unique cocktails! Got it a try and you're bound to love it - we did and made great friends with both fellow guests and bar men 😀
cruzzzinma Posted November 19, 2017 #42 Share Posted November 19, 2017 We had the grumpy bartender on the Sostice a couple weeks ago. We are among the “been there, done that” and aren't going back.
emairs Posted November 20, 2017 #43 Share Posted November 20, 2017 We had the grumpy bartender on the Sostice a couple weeks ago. We are among the “been there, done that” and aren't going back. I wonder if this is the same grumpy bartender we had on the Eclipse earlier this year. He was really miserable. His lovely bar was empty most of the time. We moved to the martini bar, where the bartenders were amazing, and gave us a show every evening. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Straughn Posted November 21, 2017 #44 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Loved that Molecular Bar. As a solo traveler, it was easy to have a conversation and the same folks showed up most nights. I made several friends and dined with three of them the last evening. I have had varied experiences in the World Bar. I have been on ships, both with and w/o a traveling partner. Sometimes, the place was comfortably full and other times dead. I really miss the atmosphere of the Molecular Bar, not to mention the "menu", as that seemed to draw a more varied and consistent crowd.
