Staff changes on Princess Ships

I seem to notice it after a change in destination.

For example - I would often do the first cruise to Alaska. We always seemed to get a new Captain and new CD then.

Same with Canada NE - they would do the TA, and then the new Captain and CD would come on.

Sort of different in the Caribbean as the ship stays there longer than most destinations.

Of course, everything can change anytime. For example, one Canada NE trip - we had 3 Captains. The previous one, the new one and the Commodore and they switched off as one went to Bermuda for a "golf game" for a few days.

Each of these people have fixed assignments- 3 months on, 3 off, 4 on, 4 off, or 6 on, 6 off. Assignments can change for occasional reasons, but you wouldn't be happy if your opposite was working only 5 months a year, and making you work 7!

I have seen various positions change mid-cruise, if their assignment time frame was up.

Can anyone tell me how often do they have changes of :-

1. Captain

2. Cruise Director

3. Head Chef & Maitre D

And where do I obtain this information.

Thanks

Usually....

1) 4 on 2 off

2) 4 on 2 off

3) MD 7 on varies on the time off.

They are changing all the time. Could be mid cruise/end cruise.

Thanks for your replies.

Do they come back to the same ship or move on to another Princess ship.

I know the cabin stewards and waiters etc. usually go to another ship after their leave, but didn't know if this applied to the Captain etc.

Many higher positions ie:capt/MD/CD etc come back to the same ship but can go anywhere needed.
